The HX-35 Is Good For Something...

Here we have my 93 Eagle Talon TSi AWD. I got a little brave, rebuilt the motor with forged internals, cams, an expensive fuel management system and decided the HX-35 was just about the right size for some serious boost. Keep in mind this is a 2.0L (1997cc), 4 cylinder gas motor.

I ported the snot out of the divided T-3 hotside (choke zone). I then matched all the exhaust ports, CAD'ed / waterjet a custom exhaust outlet flange and had a custom intake and downpipe fabricated by my welder.

I'm in the midst of dialing in the fuel trims but it'll have to wait a few days (factory O2 sensor died on me)

Comments (negative or positive) are always good for entertainment.

I think your intake could benefit from some heat shield or cold air duct to the air filter. Maybe some wraps for the ex manifold too?
How does it spool?

That looks pretty cool. Be sure to post some videos on here as soon as possible.

I'm not sure I like the wastegate design though (only wastegating one cylinder).

I've read before where the HX-35 was good for those cars. Its the one time a HX-35 looks huge in a engine compartment. LOL

I bet it runs really well when you get it all together.

The exhaust will all be heat wrapped, the intake will be extended for colder air induction and I agree about the wastegate. But it's all I have to work with right now.

I figure I'll be at the track in a few short weeks so I'll post some pictures. 30psi FTW.

I'll have to get some pictures of the WH1C we put on my friend's John Deere 4430. 404 cubic inch diesel, setting it up for tractor pulling. Had to plasma cut the water manifold and weld a piece of 4" diameter pipe in so the compressor would clear it. Plus a custom exhaust and support to get the exhaust out of the hood.

Don't you just love custom projects.

Some guy overseas bought my hy35 for a honda civic drag car he was making. I thought he was nuts but I guess not. Kinda pathetic that the factory turbos are so small that they can go on an engine a third of the size and work great.

I'm been tossing the idea of using my extra HX35 and installing it on my 1956 Chev with a 235 6 cylinder..

anything that goes against the grain, or doesn't just bolt on, and takes some custom custom fabbing, in my opinion, is sweet.
if it goes faster, even sweeter

Not a bad idea, ive got a 54 Dodge pickup with a flathead 6 that might could benefit from the HX-35 i'll soon be getting rid of. I think that truck does a top speed of 55 right now so nothin' could hurt, right. Im not quite sure I'd get much return on it though. Lots of wasted time piping it up is about it I think.

Does anyone know what turbo would be on my chrysler newyorker 2.2efi turboed? I alway ponder the idea of puling it off and puttin the hx35 i have layin around on it. Then takin it and fabing it up on my quad. its smaller than the hx by a good bit, but i cant see any numbers or words on it.

The issue I found with the bullseye housing is that they spool very easily but they choke themselve up top with higher boost levels. I ran one on my 50trim last season and had this exact issue above 25psi.

Slim fan is needed and cheap and cleaner. Just buy one.

I have enough fuel for an HX-55.
