Hunting Wild boar
I have hunted and shot them with 12g shotgun, .30-06 rifle, .45-70 rifle, 57# osage selfbow and a 60lb recurve.
I prefer to hunt them with bow and arrow...nothing like stalking or ambushing them at waterhole and sliding a wooden arrow up to the fletch on one. The old boars can be rank...maybe that is why my uncle prefers to catch them with bulldog catch dogs and then put some corn to them for a month or two to get the gamey taste out. I prefer to shoot the one or two year old piggies for BBQ....suuuuuwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

hang the whole thing in the smoker for about 8 to 10 hrs.
Pull it out, debone, chop and enjoy.
The way Oklahoma feral hog laws are written, its not hard to get a nice fresh, farm raised hog.

the hogs from my buddies area are just about raised on grain. they tear up a field so fast its not funny. we hunt them with dogs or just pop them when we see them out of the pick up. it is a heck of a lot of fun riding around drinking beers and waiting to see them. but i have ate 175# boars that tasted fine. and he has got some as big as 800#s, i mean they were monsters. that are so fat that they can barley see.
