How Many Concerts / Favorites?

Phox’s post got me to thinking about all of the concerts that I have seen in my life. I didn’t realize that I have been to so many and seen such a large group of artist. Some of the concerts were great and some I would rather forget.

How many concerts have you seen and which ones were your favorite?

I’ll start from the first to the most recent (that I can remember)

1. Robert Cray
2. Huey Lewis & The News (Hey, I was 15, what did I know?)
3. Whitesnake (3 times)
4. Bon Jovi (2 times)
5. Bullet Boys
6. Cinderella
7. Kix
8. Kings X
9. Great White
10. Tesla
11. Def Leppard
12. Kingdom Come
13. Megadeath
14. Scorpions
15. Dokken
16. Van Halen (3 times)
17. Aerosmith (2 times)
18. REO Speedwagon
19. Robert Plant (one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen)
20. Poison
21. Queensryche
22. The Tubes
23. Spin Doctors
24. Bad Company
25. Ted Nugent
26. **** Yankees
27. Cheap Trick
28. Big Head Todd & The Monsters
29. Motley Crew
30. Blind Melon
31. Janes Addiction
32. Fuel
33. Third Eye Blind
34. Vertical Horizon
35. Tonic
36. Dave Matthews Band
37. George Clinton & Parliament
38. Blues Traveler
39. Creed
40. Pearl Jam
41. U2
42. Foo Fighters

I’m sure there are more but I can’t seem to remember.

Britt

It's been a long time:

In the late 60's it was:
Cream
Doors
Canned Heat
Youngbloods
Janis Joplin
Santana
Chicago
Beach Boys
Four Seasons
Supremes
Stevie Wonder
Joe Cocker
Frank Zappa

I got dragged to a Tubes concert once in the early 80's and that
was pretty bizzare.

then later...much later:

Sarah Vaughn
Stan Getz
Maynard Ferguson
Keiko Matsui
Fattburger
Grover Washington, Jr.

Britt, I didn't see George Strait in your list. What's up with that??

Here's the ones I can think of (maybe all of them...I haven't been to many concerts):

1) George Strait (at least three times...maybe four)
2) Shania Twain (not only is she good looking, but she's an awesome entertainer)
3) Randy Travis (I was young and went with my parents)
4) Garth Brooks (back when he was still good)
5) Clint Black (Chris LeDoux was also there)
6) Country Music Festival (George Strait, Alan Jackson, Faith Hill and a whole bunch of others I can't remember....twice)
7) Pat Green (when he was a nobody)

I think that's about it.

There's also a reason why I've never even heard of most of the groups on your list.

Motley Crue was my first concert ever...

The first Lollapalooza tour w/ Janes Addiction, Rollins Band, etc...

That was the younger days...

Lately it's been:

Brad Paisley (2x)
Sara Evans
Kenny Chesney (2x)
Rascall Flatts
Dierks Bentley (both times w/ George Strait)

That's about all I can think of...

Geez where do I start....

Mark Chesnutt more times than I can remember...Prolly cause of how much I drank FAVORITE!!!!
Toby Keith twice, one I was backstage and got to talk to him
Rascall Flatts
Montgomery Gentry
Charlie Daniels---AWESOME
Dierks Bentley
Brooks & Dunn, way back in the Neon Moon days
Pam Tillis
Clay Walker
Tracy Lawrence
Joe Diffie
Phil Vassar--Sucked
Chris Ledoux
Trace Adkins
Joe Nichols?? I think??

George Carlin twice

I know I've been to alot more, just cant seem to remember Funny though...I'm an audiophile with every kind of music, from ganster rap to bluegrass gospel....But I only go to country concerts

By FAR the BEST EVER was the Rockin Roadhouse Tour...Joe Diffie, Tracy Lawrence and Mark Chesnutt...Anybody catch this one?? Man it was great...Wall to wall music, no intermission...All 3 started the concert together...Then instead of taking a break between each artist, they would all 3 play a few songs together, then one would finish his set, then all 3 would play again....Then all 3 finished out together...Non-stop music...It was great...

That was the first concert I ever went to, I must have been around 16,
and heard that a girl I liked was going so I aquired some tickets.

I've seen Depeche Mode 3 times now.
Howard Jones once.
Primus once.
Some semi famous country twangy group or person at the fair.
(left a big impression as you can tell)
I know there have to be others, but I'm completely blank on who or when.

Not big on live performances,
I get to liking the songs on the radio or the CD's, then you see them performed live and they aren't the same.

I felt that way about Montgomery Gentry....I could have spent my $100 or so that night someplace better...Jim Beam was their sponsor, and they drank, and drank, and drank...By the end, they were sloshed, slurring words, forgetting the chorus...Love their music, but didnt like the concert

Watch for a band coming out of KY called Backroads...Lead singer is Scott Said...They've been trying to land a record for about 3 years now....AWESOME....I really hope they make it

As much as a hate to say it I agree with Hoss, I haven't heard of hardly any of those. I have been to two concerts in my life. George Strait when i was in High school, and I took my wife to see Don Williams on her birthday this past september. After seeing Don from front row seats, I never need to go to another concert again. He is truly a class act. Just a good old boy sitting on a stool singing good ol songs. You can actually hear him sing because his band doesn't play so load you can't hear him. Most of you probably think I am crazy and don't even know who Don Williams is.
