How heavy can I go?

I'm looking at buying a mid-60's Chevy C60 equipped with a 22' rollback. My problem is that the data plate lists the GVW as 19,100 and I need to, on occasion, haul a 12 ton dozer for short distances (5-20 miles). If I buy the truck, I'd plan to add an extra axle to support the weight. My question is whether the truck can structurally handle the load once I have the extra axle under it. Thoughts? How much have you hauled with your 2-ton?

I have a 66 chev C-60 with a 15ft. flatbed and have hauled 15k lbs worth of cement blocks on it...handled it just fine. Also have hauled out broken up concrete slabs on it that I know were heavier than the blocks because of the way the truck squatted. I don't know about hauling a 24k lb. dozer though...seems like too much.

i'd haul it, but i am very used to hauling big weight with marginal equipment. heck i remember as a kid, every one had 6 cylinder 1/2 ton trucks. i still can't believe the loads we used to haul with them. but the roll back bed may not be up to the task.
