The dodge has been parked a lot lately. I usually drive the work truck, which I dont have to pay for fuel, unless I go out of town or just need it for something. It's rare that I get away from the house unless it's for work anyway.

I'm spending $500-600 a month on fuel, which is my number 1 expense. Rent is about $230 a month. i've got 4 room mates . I've thought about buying a commuter car but i love my truck too much. If slowing down means gaining 1-2 mpg i'll bo it.

I drive mine a lot less - it gets used when I need the truck for work, or trips (it has the most room) - but even when I first bought the truck I had another car as a daily driver - so it isn't only because of the fuel prices - but now because they are so high, I do watch how much I drive the truck "just to drive it".... it's sad

i hafto drive mine to make a living towing trailers allot but i am looking at buying a chevy s 10 to bid jobs and stuff. Also got a rat rod with a 6 banger in it on the table. It amazes me how many diesel trucks i see around town that never tow a load or have anything in the bed sadly most trucks diesel or gas is just a fasion statement

I recently hauled a load to tamps 12hours round trip in one day i did about 65 mph the whole way to save fuel i must say it was kinda relaxing not goin 80 through trafic

Nothing's changed for me. Mine's never once been over 100km/h (our speed limit here, 62mph). And fuel's been well over $1 a liter for years here. If anything I drive MORE with the DTC, because it gets far better mileage (almost double) than my last truck, a 90 F150 that never broke 12mpg empty and couldn't get out of its own shadow it was so gutless.

But anyway, speed does make a huge difference. I bet the guys running 80-90mph all the time would be amazed at the increase in mileage if they'd slow down to 60-65. I know for me, slowing down 10km/h (6mph) gives me nearly another 3.5 mpg US.

Now that the weather is nice, I have been riding my bike (see avitar) not the pedal type. I also got a little Toyota pickup to drive daily. No plans on selling the CTD.
