Southerners have a propensity for embellishing the truth somewhat. Take for example, the age old claim that most southerners express when referring to their superiority over the north; "The south's gonna do it again!" I ask, do WHAT again? Lose? Most southerners seem to think they won that war and do whatever they can to convince everyone else of it as well.

So with this in mind, when a northerner, (one who lives in the colder climes), hears a southerner exude his or her disdain for the cold temperatures they must endure, said northerners cannot help but wonder how much embellishment is being used by the southerner in the description of the weather.

Most of us here know it's just horsing around. Lighten up some. All we ever hear is how things are bigger and better in Texas, we can't even have OUR moment?

Yes, there actually IS a merit badge and other awards available if one was so inclined. Earned it when I was 14. Klondike Derby awards too. Another trivial note, stars in the sky or lights on the horizin are never as bright as when it's in the negative double digits or more.

Your snowman is upside down, but the black lab makes up for everything.

The second lake picture is Towada-ko over in northern Japan. We were stationed in Aomori prefecture.

Sorry about the pics, got them all sized right now.

Yeah, it's beautiful out there.

That is what we did every weekend. Load in the truck (or on the motorcycles) and head out to to the mountains. Depending on the weather, we were skiing, riding or hiking.

Gosh, going through all these pics I wanna take a trip back. When it gets cold here I revert back to then. Getting hot soups, hot teas and good good food.
