Another 'rebel' misconception. 'Y'all' is short for, (I presume), 'you all', hence the 'ou' of 'you' is removed thus to hasten the occurrence of the use of an apostrophe behind the 'y' - y'all. If it were to be a legitimate single word as you profess, I don't think 'yall' would cut it either. It would technically be pronounced like 'yell' with an almost, but not quite, long 'a' sound. A one word interpretation would be more correctly expressed as 'yawl', such as in 'drawl', which you southern people also have.

There will be a test on Monday.

You're welcome.

I will be happy to send some of the 60+ inch's of snow we got down your way. My sister and brother in law were up from Burleson Tx. a couple weeks ago, i tried to send the weather back with them but it did not work. My sister sent me a picture the day after they got home of my bil in the front yard of there home with shorts and a t-shirt on.

I am really sick of the snow, specially cause when its snowing everyone is crashing, so I am out in it all the time.

Got tired of all the s-n-o-w, (that's a bad 4 letter word) the daily shoveling, the cold, the daily shoveling, the ice, the daily shoveling, the heating bills, putting on and taking off of heavy clothes and gloves, and ......... well you get the idea, so now am happy here in Paradise where the worst winter I see is a couple of mornings of frost which is gone and back to shorts weather by 9 a.m. About 98% of the days are cloudless.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

We're having a heat wave here in NW Indiana, wind out of the north off Lake Michigan and it was -10 this morning at 0400. I think we hit 15 as a high. You ask how we do it...simple, I grew up here and live with it.I love winter, snow and the cold but yeah it does get old about this time of year. The sub-zero temps are kinda depressing to see on the thermometer.

You southerors haven't seen winter until it snows while the sun is out... or it's so cold, the snow squeeks like your walking in a gymnasium with wet shoes.

I hear sweet tea makes it snow more too.

Is it a common assumption of Northerners that Southerners have never lived in the north? Thus Northerners think Southerners have no business stating "It's cold" with any legitimacy? Is there a merit badge that Southerners must earn to say "It's cold"? What are the requirements to earn said merit badge?

For perspective, most days its warmer inside my freezer then it is outside. To be honest I would consider anything above zero as comfortable just cause the body gets use to the cold at a certain point. That said I can under stand how 40 or even 20 would seem cold when you are use to 60's
