OK, still learning, I have noticed many times someon referring to a person as a "hot shotter". What exactly does that mean?

 

I'm not sure of the exact definition, but hot shotter is a person who, usually, has a pickup and trailer and hauls freight, cars, etc. I'm sure that Haulin-in-Dixie could give you a more thorough definition.

 

It's also a volunteer fire fighter, if that's the definition you're looking for.

Or maybe that's just the firefighters in my area.

 

DPG is right, basically someone with a truck and trailer (rather it be flatbed, livestock, horse, car etc...) picks up different jobs around the country hauling over the road. they usually have all there proper licsence and insurance blah blah blah. its a fun job if you like to haul

 

Not with the diesel prices these days, no matter how fun it is,there comes a time when the wallet burns a hole in our pants.Then we wonder, "why am i doing this"?
