My old roommate had his '06 Mustang parked in front of my house. This morning at about 10AM, I hear a crash and an alarm go off. I run out and see the rear of a dark grey Ram turning the corner. I hop in mine and tear out after the guy, I was sideways going up my street. As soon as I round the corner, I see him making a u-turn and coming back down. I stop him and call the cops. After I get off the phone, he writes his info, illegible and very sloppy, on a napkin, puts it on the wiper and TAKES OFF after I told him not to and him saying that I can't detain him and he did all that he had to do. I advised him that if he left, it's gonna get way worse. He left. So I'm following him down the street, flat tire and all, he's off the road driving in the dirt, straddling lanes, stops half way in the intersection, makes a left, bumps the curb, makes a right to go on the freeway and hits the curb again, now we're on the freeway going 75-80 mph, he's driving on the shoulder and brushing the guard rail, he loses his tire totally about a mile later, I'm on the phone with LASO giving them updates, and luckilly, there was one that just finished a stop just ahead. 8 miles later, they get him stopped and out of the truck, cuff him and he's then placed in the back of a cruiser. They determined he was high on prescription meds (forgot the name) and he hit numerous other things before he hit the 'Stang. Suspended license, no insurance and possibly no papers. They said he had a ticket still in the truck issued in 2006 for no insurance as well. My truck got peppered with debris from him running off the road. No damage tho.

 

Did they speak English?

 

Thats awesome glad you finally got him off the street. He would of only done more damage and possibly kill someone.

 

So I guess you don't need a tv.

 

I commend you for not letting him get away. Too many ppl get away with crap like this, including my bull....

Thats great! Obviously the mustang owner isnt going to get a dime out of this guy though. Does his insurance cover damage from under or non-insured motorists? I hope so..

 

Yeah, he has uninsured motorist it's that he's gotta cough up a $1000 deductable.
