Help and advice needed whilst in Arizona please
My wife (Susan) and I are flying into Phoenix Arizona next Tuesday for a 16 day holiday, this will be our first visit to the United States.
My wife has a shopping list miles long, my list is very short.I`m looking to buy a Isspro 30lb fuel pressure gauge.Apart from Phoenix we will be visiting amongst other places Flagstaff and Tucson, can anybody recommend a Isspro dealer please. Also I will need a 1/8th needle valve, the same type as shown in Dr Evil`s pressure gauge setup.I`ve read that Home depot sells these valves is there any other type of store where these can be obtained.1/8th valves and fittings are hens teeth here in the UK.
On to a more general question, any of you guys got a essential piece of advice for first time visitors to the USA.
Thanks in advance Van aka yamroamer

While I'm quite a ways west of the Phoenix area I do quite a bit of business with these guys:
http://www.swdiesel.com/
They are listed as an Isspro dealer. It may be wise to email them and see if they have what you need in stock. On the needle valve you can go to NAPA autoparts website and pull up a part number. There are literally hundreds of those stores in the metro area so finding that shouldn't be a problem. This valve from McMaster-Carr would work.

While your in Phoenix.....
Visit an In-N-Out burger (and get the nice 8.00 t-shirt). Go to Rustlers Roost Steak House. Kind of spendy, but your on vacation.....live a little!
Here's a nice place to stay + it's right next door to the Roost:

Lots of things to do in the metro area. I used to want to live there, but the commute from where we looked to live, to where I wanted to work would have sucked well over 2 hours of my life away on a daily basis. No thanks.

If you have a bit of time to "roam" when you go north on the 17 toward Flagstaff, jump off the freeway and take highway 89a up to Sedona and then up the mountain to Jerome. Neat place to sit and have a cold one.
Hi,
Have a nice visit. J Body and Mike gave you good tips. Also at Ruslers Roost you can get Rattle Snake as an appitizer. Really not much tast to them, but something to tell the friends back home.
The trip to Sedona is worth the time. Also it is one of the places in the world that has energy vortexes. There is a vortex just off the road to the Sedona Airport. A great view of the valley from that road. Take lots of pictures and have a good trip.

Ya, Montezuma Castle, Tonto Bridge..they are all between Flag and Phoenix. Sedona, as already mentioned is a MUST see. And if you go to flagstaff, I suggest taking the trek to see the Grand Canyon. I have seen it about 23 times, atleast haha...but it is something that everyone should see atleast once in their life. Afterall, it is one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
As far as Nascar...night race...beautiful Arizona Women...man I can't wait. Looking forward to it. And traffic is gonna be bad anywhere during commuting times. Construction all the time, everywhere. Good luck. Any questions, just ask.

Hi guys
Thanks for all your input and recommendations.
The Grand canyon is on our must do list aswell as Monument Valley.I also added Rustlers to our list, although I`ll pass on the rattle snake starter, thanks anyway. The first 3 nights we spend in Phoenix, then we will be travelling around, might even visit Nogales and walk over into Mexico for a day. Also on my list to do is travel route 66 Seligman to Topock.
One last question did I read somewhere that you can turn right at highway junctions, when the traffic lights are showing red.
Thanks Van

It sounds like you have a pretty good trip planned out. The Grand Canyon, Monument Vally and the Garden of the Gods are really something to see.
As far as going into Mexico.....be careful. I've been across the border several times, but not sure I would do it again. Too much corruption and hard feelings over immigration laws....but that's just me.
