Helicopter Training Last Weekend

I thought I'd show you guys a couple pictures of Jonah and I training last week. Saturday was helicopter training and Sunday was regular search training. Jonah did well even with the low thump under the blades. It was his first ride. He was just looking out the window the whole time, even in manuvers.

Jonahs reward after making a find

That looks like a Bell Huey UH-1H helicopter. One of my favorite helicopters. Man, what I would give to fly. I am absolutely obsessed with helicopters, I just can't afford to become a pilot and bad timing for military training. BTW, Jonah looks real good, keep up the good work.

Yeah, it is a huey, flown by the NC State Forest Service. We do a lot of work with them around the state. They have a ton of Hueys. Loud, and bouncy. Perfect exposure for the dog. He was fine. The only time he hesitate was when he first got under the running blades, but it only took him a couple seconds to get used to it, and continue into the helo.

That sure is a special dog you got there. Give him all the love and support you can and he'll give it right back a hundred fold.
