Was in a head on collision lastnight
Lastnight, at around 7:00PM my buddy got a call from his Mom saying her van wasnt starting at the local Walmart. So we decided to take his 1996 Ford mustang up there instead of my pickup as it hasnt been started all day nor was it plugged it.
I took a good set of my jumper cables.. buddy (who was driving the mustang) myself in the front passenger side, and my girlfriend in the back seat passenger side. We took off heading down a local road where the speed limit is 45MPH..
We where enjoying the ride while I went to light up a smoke, i heard "Oh *&^#" to look up and see a set of headlights coming straight at us...
The guy had to be doing about 50-55MPH when he hit our passenger front quarter when we where doing around 40 MPH....
Im pretty sure i seen my life flash before my eyes, that was the scaredst I have ever been in an accident.... I was able to open my passenger side door with everything I had. I got he girlfriend out and got my jacket around her as she was almost in shock. My bud who was driving was hurt pretty bad, lots of blood and a nice concussion. He ended up being transported to the hospital by ambulance at this time. And was released about 2AM lastnight. I ended up getting my truck and driving down to the hospital to get my legs checked out as they where hurting really bad. Im Ok just a few really bad bruises and cuts. My girlfriend is ok also with just a small amount of pain..
Its safe to say that somone was watching over us as we should of been dead.
We where lucky... Be safe out there guys, and watch for that other person driving, theywill be the ones to ruin your day, or even life!

That is a sick feeling seeing that come at you!

It was one time I decided to drive my S-10 instead of my Ram... and the other guy was driving a 1500 Ram.
They said he was doing about 60~65 and we were doing between 40~45. I got a broken femur and crushed kneecap, my girlfriend got a couple broken ribs.
You all are incredibly fortunate and blessed to not be hurt more than you were!
What was the other guy driving?

Very glad that you can post it, yes- you will feel a little uneasy as a passenger next time- nice of you to take care of the situation at hand too. good gut check. not the news the Mom needed to hear either.....

Thats some scary stuff!!! I got in to a wreck as a passenger last year and still I find myself pressing the imaginary brake when i am riding passenger. Hope everyone heals up!

Well just a little update. My girlfriend is doing well, very minor bruising on her left knee..
My bud who was driving is still having terriable neck and back pain, but is able to move around, with very little memory loss on the accident.
Myself, Im still having bad pain around the hip and upper leg area, along with a very stiff neck. It almost feels like my hips are a bit "out of alignment" So I have another doctor appointment tomorrow.
Also, I guess I hit my head on the windshield when we looked at the car in the impound lot. Not possitive but I did have my seat-belt on. But anything is possible.
We got a few calls today from the guy who hit us insurance company today (Progressive) We told them We would have our attorney contact them about any further information they needed.

Thats good you're getting an attorney involved. I had to get one to even get all my bills covered.
Even though it was my femur and kneecap that broke my hip is one of the things that bothers me the most.
