Have ya seen one b4
While perusing my normal spot in Houston traffic on my way to work this morning, I came up upon a 2nd gen CTD shortbed 4x4 that actually had a stepside bed. This is the 1st Dodge 2nd gen, much less CTD that I have ever seen with a stepside. At 1st I thought it was a Chebby, till I got closet and noticed the Ram tail lights.
Anyone else spotted one of these, or do ya think it was a retrofit???

As best I could tell it was a Factory built bed. The lights were not retrofitted, the fuel door was located in the front curve of the rear wheelwell (unlike Chevy which is in front of the wheelwell). As far as a dually chop and paste, the wheelwells were not as big as a dually appears to be. Again, this thing looked like a factory manufactured bed.
As far as asthetics, it actually looked kinda neat, but then again since I have never seen one b4, it's quirkyness may have just caught my eye. If I could get away with a shorty bed and it was offered, I might have been tempted to have bought one when I purchased mine......but then again I need the 8 ft bed to haul my 4 wheeler with my toolbox installed.

Shovel, that is exactly what it looked like except that it had the 2nd gen tail lights. The fuel door was placed exactly like the pic you posted. It still does not look like a chopped duallie bed in that they are all long wheel base and the fenders stick out way further than that pictured. If it is a chop job, then the shop that did it should get some major KUDO's for work well done.

In addition to what JF posted, I know there is a shop in Texas somewhere that uses Chebbie stepside boxes to do a Dodge stepside conversion...
