I have a friend who rides one to work almost everyday. It seems to be a decent bike. You will pay more to ride HD than a comparable Jap brand. You won't get the performance, or quality. Hd's have come a long way though.

I've rode a few different models over the years (none recently) ... and I think the Harleys were every bit as dependable as the jap bikes. Didn't see very many 1967 Hondas on the rode when I had my ol' Sporty .

I like this model ... nice to see that Harley is still putting out something that looks like a Harley ... I have been disgusted at a few of the new ones on the road today.

6cylinders ... you getting one ???

Sportster

I'm not really a Sportster fan, but I like the looks of that one better than any other Sportster. I did walk by a Nightster just yesterday and had to stop and walk back and take a good look. For some reason I really like the fork gaiters, gives it an old school look. I think Harley is doing an awesome job quickly adapting to what people want, it is evident in how quickly they are releasing new models and designs. Best move they made in my opinion was bringing back the Softail Custom, next to the Heritage it is my favorite. The Rocker is another newer model, not my style but it is turning heads. The most recent release was the CrossBones, that is one cool looking bike. Each family has it's own functionality and each model in that family it's own style. If you can afford it I would throw in the other 2,000 and get a Superglide or 4,000 and get a Streetbob. I think you'll keep it a lot longer than you will that Sportster.

By far the best looking sportster I have seen, you will out grow it fast if you like to ride. I just test rode an 08 road king and an 08 heritage softail, I liked the softail better, buuuut, for 19g's I will keep this for now.

Wouldn't have one if you gave it to me.
I'd sell it and get something good.

Only thing that turned me off on the nightster in person was the gap between the tank and the seat, just looked a little silly in person, other than that it was a sharp looking bike.

Those bikes rock. I love the blacked out look. Plus 50 MPG when the gas is so high. I have a 107 S&S in my bagger and still get 45 MPG.

like what .....

If you dont like the brand dont bash it. I have owned Yamaha's Kawasaki's And Honda's all were good bikes with their own problems. My 2 HD's in over 80k combined miles have never been down because of the bike.

The Sportster is a nice bike . But for a little more you can get a big twin.
