I have a Beretta 96D w Tricon sites, loaded with 135gr hydra-shocks. It was a Law Enforcment Trade and got a good deal on it. I would rather have an FS but for the price. In a panic anyone with-in 15 yards will go down. 25 yards if I can prepare.

All of my shotguns are long and would be unrully in our small apartment. Also, it is heavy enough to be a decent club in hand-hand.

I'd rather not loose the FMJ's. My house is brick on 4 sides, and 3 sides are surrounded by an 8' tall cinder-block fence. I doubt a bullet will escape from my house. 2 holes bleed better than one. I keep my G19 and G29 in small IWB holsters (uncle mike's neoprene IWB holster and a comp-tac C-TAC) under my bed. Both are kept with 1 in the chamber and 15 in the mag. The 9MM HP's don't have enough velocity, even FP loads, to successfully expand a a JHP and get a good 10"+ of penetration. My little G29 can spit out DT JHP at 1300fps and get 15+" of penetration and holes about .90" wide, and maintain a good amount of their weight at the end of their journey. The reason the 9mm stays for home use is because double-taps are quite a bit easier than the 10mm, and I know a 9mm won't leave my house through a brick wall.

Hoss, My plan is simple. Lock the master bed room door. Jack a round in the shot gun. Dial 911 and shoot anything that comes through the door that I don't recognize.

Don't forget one thing......Empty the magazine on him! Dead men tell no tales. You may even want to shoot one into the floor or ceiling also to make it look like you're not a marksman.

I keep a .38 special loaded with 2 rounds of birdshot and then 3 slugs for backup.

If the noise of a close range gunshot and the sting of birdshot doesn't stop them, then the slugs should, as long as they aren't wearing any body armor.

I call it graduated punishment.

......THREAD DRIFT ALERT.....THREAD DRIFT ALERT............

The original reason this thread was started was to let folks know that bullets WILL go through interior walls, and to be triple sure of your target and what might lie beyond before dropping the hammer.
We've all drifted a little off topic. myself included

Has anyone had to fire a gun in self defense?

I have twice, and I got in trouble.

I have been with-in a breath of it. I have relayed the story in another thread, but an office that teaches at AZPOST said "next time turn him into swiss chesse if your so inclined".

Body Armor is why the "Triple-Tap" was invented.

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread,..........
