Gun experts, I need your help
Ok, I've got an old Cooey Model 600 .22 and its in fairly good shape. The only problem I have with it is that I can't figure out how to get the bolt out? It makes it a pain to clean since I can hit it with the bore brush and then oil the action and barrel. There must be a trick to pop the bolt out?
Thanks
Thanks

Can you post a picture of the receiver??
I used to be a gunsmith, by trade, and I never heard of a Cooey.
If I could see a close-up of the action, I could probably see how to get out the bolt.

I thought J.C.Higgins was Montgomery Ward, not Sears.
Someone straighten me out, if I am wrong.
Thanks.

No spark plugs-The Cooeys were made in Canada. The model 600 Cooey is the same as the Winchester 60. I'm also a gunsmith and have never encountered one personally, but try like was said above, to pull the bolt all the way to the rear. Try it both with the striker cocked and dry-fired. In other words, MAKE SURE THE CHAMBER IS CLEAR, and dry-fire. Now, keep the trigger held to the rear. While holding the trigger to the rear, lift the bolt handle and retract the bolt all the way to the rear. Hopefully it will come out of the receiver. I have gone through my resources at my bench, and haven't even found a schematic of the Win Mod 60, so I'm just guessing on the above advice. Give me or BearKiller a shout if it still won't come out. I'm sure one of us can figure it out.
I have a really old Cooey in my gunshop, I plan on making a trip out that way later I will see what it takes to remove the bolt. If I recall (also a licensed gunsmith) Cooey's can date back almost to the stone age
