Groundhog eviction??

Dogs are going crazy this morning so I look outside and momma groundhog has 5 little groundhoglets in the backyard on a field trip, look around and it looks like the burrow is under the shed. My question is whether anyone knows of a preferably non-lethal way to evict them and send them on their merry way, thinking about live trapping them and shipping them off to the woods but am looking for other ideas as well. Thanks for any suggestions.

I use a Rodenator, not non-leathal though, and don't know if I'd want to use it under a shed either, but 100% effective

Aluminum pie pan with a couple packs of mouse bait mixed with a coke. Put it where the GH can get it but not the pets. Works fast.

On a side note, if you can catch a little one and they are small enough they make good pets. A buddy of mine had one in a rabbit hutch and it was pretty cool. He had it for years before it died.

Personally I have a .223 Ackley I use to evict groundhogs but the only way I know of to get them away alive is to trap them. Momma hog isnt going to leave her home easily by smoking or flooding her out when she has babies. She is going to be crazy mad when you get her in a trap so be careful.

they tend to be picky eaters, they love violet leaves, clover, garden veggies....... they don't like just plain old grass, chances are if you get rid of their fav's, they will move out on their own. side benefit is your lawn will look better without the junk growin in it. non letahal , but patients intense. My personal remedy involves high speed carbon or traps and " swimming lessons "

I don't know if this works personally... one of my friends said that he took empty beer bottles and buried them in the yard with about 2-3 inches of the neck sticking out, so that when the wind blew, the humming noise ran them off. This was gophers, but maybe it will work? Don't cost nothing, and you'll enjoy that method...

You do know that they're delicious, right? Quarter, marinate in soy sauce and garlic, and barbeque. It'll change your life; you'll look at all sorts of critters with new eyes.

if in town, conibear trap set at the entrance of the hole. if not in town the aforementioned .223 will do just fine. my savage 112 varmint has probably got over a hundred 'hogs under its belt.

I've heard this a well. Around hear we use small windmills that you can buy at any hobby shop. This works great a getting rid of moles and groundhogs

I've used .177 Air Rifle on the chipmunk population with great success.

They get in the grain bins and ruin bags of mineral.
