Make a complete stop next time, 99% of people don't come to a complete stop, but like you they'll insist that they did(stop) it's a bad habit. I do make complete stops (where the wheels stop rotating forward and car rebounds rearward) and it never fails to surprise the person behind me who assumes I'll run the stop sign just like they do. Only a matter of time before I get rear ended $$$$$Cha Ching for me! If WVERYONE plead not guilty and demanded speedy trial they would stop harassing us for trivial issues like this.

You're just making it easy for the cops by being sloppy. They are on a mission now to increase revenue.

BTW in CA you have a 25% chance that the cop won't show up in Court, I ALWAYS plead not guilty and DO NOT WAIVE time! Force them to provide your constitutionally guaranteed speedy trial, don't give them any quarter they won't for you!. I just beat a seatbelt ticket last month- plead not guilty and no I don't waive time. When I went to the clerk, she let me pick from a range of dates- I chose a Friday, figuring the cop's boss is not gonna want to spend overtime for a $22.00 ticket. Guess I was right as he didnt show up

I got a running stop sign ticket 30 years ago. The guy in front of me half pulled through the sign and stopped cold, I pulled up to his bumper and stopped. The guy in front pulled away and I just sat there, less then 15 feet from the sign and waited for the traffic to clear. A cop pulls up behind me and we wait. When the traffic cleared I pulled out and his lights were on before my back bumper passed the sign. He said I failed to stop at the sign, he did not tell me how close I had to be but said I was stopped too far back. I normally never pulled too close to this line as people turning left in front of me, going back the way I came from would cut the corner close and often crossed into the stopping area for the stop sign.

I was just 17 and it was a local City cop and quota or not he was just harassing a teenager. This was before dash cams so it was his word against mine on if it was a legal stop so I was out $35 and points on my licenses.

ya it suck , sounds like you were caught though. where in Fort Worth were you? and never drive through Argyle TX unless you are ready for a random pull over, they got me for no mud flaps and no front license plate I was very surprised at that.

I have three kinds of stops:

1) REAL stop - most stops.

2) Pseudo stop - 5am, not another car anywhere in sight, slow roll.

3) Combo stop - Real stop combined with going through the red light at 5am with not another car anywhere in sight.

Sooner or later I'll probably get bagged for # 2 or 3 and have to revert to one and only one kind of stop.

thats why I say I dread the day, but I am always light hearted with officers and am willing to admit any fault if it was so. I mean if they caught you....they caught you, might as well make the best of it

my wife has beat two or three tickets taking them to court. police are human, they make mistakes, and the burden of proof is on them. if you stopped, go to court. if nothing else, you will know you tried, instead of just throwing in the towel. on at least one occasion, after she set it for trial, they threw the case out. no guts, no glory
