Allright fellas and a few ladies, I have decided to ask my girlfriend of 1-1/2 years to marry me!! I am going to do it on valentines day and haven't quite decided how to yet? After my first mariage gone bad, quick fast and in a hurry I am wanting to do this right seems how I now believe in soul mates!! Any input would be great!!

If she likes oysters you can take her to a place that serves them and have a very special one with a ring... rare species though, oysters growing diamond rings instead of pearls.
(Maybe you'll have to help a little )

Do it with the grandeur of knowing that this is your last grand gesture- after that you're a married man.

Try something spectacular... I went to a woodsman competition in Lethbridge alberta this summer , and when the two men who were competeing got down to doing the Jack and Jill buck saw, they each had to pick a girl from the crowd to be "jill" they both appeared to pick random girls, because the crowd did not know any better , but one of them picked his g/f.

At the end of the 3 cuts , The guy who had picked his g/f as "jill" had revealed a cut out in the center of the block of wood they were cutting off of... He reached in , and pulled out the ring.

I thought that was pretty cool myself, took some imagination.

 

Mine came in a crowded airport at the end of the terminal as she arrived from Japan......yeah, she was surpised. I agree, make it memorable, something creative.

 

I like the creative ness you guys are pointing out to me.. I have a few ideas brewing... Keep em coming.
