I do. E-mail me at the e-mail address I have listed in my profile and I'll invite you.

More accurately, gmail COMPUTERS read your mail. There's no human reading them at all.

The computers scan the text and display text ads that it "thinks" are relevant.

NO archival data is stored, and no PERSON is reading your mail. When you delete a gmail msg, the message is gone forever.

I love my gmail acct. DieselGeek02@gmail.com

Correct. Read Google's privacy statement and it's all explained. Your email messages are less likely to be read through their systems than your local ISP.

But it's Google, and Google is trying to conquer the entire Internet.

But since they're so good at it, it's pointless to fight it.

You don't NEED an invite to get a Gmail account, but I still have 99 invites for anyone who wants one. Just PM your e-mail address to me (or post it here).

If google wants to read my mail go for it. Maybe it will help them to learn how a 16 year old thinks, so they can take over our part of the internet.

i got about 99 left too if anyone wants one. Mainer0311@gmail.com

What is gmail, and why would i want it? Someone want to tell me a few more details. Now I'm curious as to what we are all talking about. I like my outlook express. Does this take it's place or just a add on? Thanks for any info!!!

Mainly their 2.5GB (?) + storage capacity and their "threaded" e-mail message setup. The threaded e-mail message setup allows for multiple replies from the same person (for a particular message) to be displayed in one message, so one won't see multiple messages in their e-mail box saying "RE: XXXX." Instead, they'll see "TDR, me (2)," after one reply, and after the third reply, they'll see "TDR, me (4)."

Example:

Gmail is free web based email like Yahoo or Hotmail, only it's offered by Google.

I have 2 addresses that I've never used for anything, never given out to anyone anywhere,
I got them just as backup should Yahoo or Hotmail get old or stale.

I check them maybe once every other week when I remember, and they both are loaded with spam,
which leads one to believe that Google is selling these addresses to spammers.
