Glock 36!!
Well you either love the Glock or you hate them. It seems like anyway. I picked up a Glock 36 today. For a 45 ACP it is small and compact. I like the thin design. Makes a nice little packer. With a new Fobus or similar paddle I think I have a new companion to try out for a bit.
I love the SIG P220 and the Springfield, but I have always liked the Glocks. I had a special relationshp with my old Glock 10mm and if this little 36 turns out to be anything like that one..well. I might have a keeper
It is slightly small for my hand, but the wifes hands fits it perfectly. The pinky finger hangs off the clip and the pointer finger is crushed some. I have seen the extended clips for 1 additional round though. Might have to give that a try. I bet my 7 year old could shoot this thing with reduced loads.

A fan of the 36 here...you'll appreciate the single-stack if you're a 1911 fan and the concealing ability the design offers if you conceal carry.
The Federal 230-grain Hydra-Shok makes for an excellent defense round.

I'll bet any round in a Hydra-Shok makes an excellent defense round...I know I sure as heck don't wan't to get wacked by one after shooting a deer with a 44mag loaded with 260gr Hydra-Shok's

even with a competition barrel that would be some shooting. In the combat course im lucky I shoot 70 percent from the 25yard lineI have been carrying a model 17 for almost 10 years and only had one major malfunction. Luckily it was during a qualification and not a real stress situation. A week ago we had an incident and my partner got 1 round off and had a malfunction when we were all done it was cleared one round left on the floor and on mag left in the street. No good guys hurt but the bad guy went to the hospital with a gsw. Needless to say that glock went bye bye. NO one knows why the gun malfunctioned we both shoot distinguished expert. thats better than 290 out of 300.
I would really like a small 45 I have a 1911 military issue with competition barrel and some trigger mods I can empty the clip and keep a 2 to 3 inch grouping.

Could the malfunction be from a limp wrist? The heat of things can get weird sometimes. Some semis hate limp wrist and with the ammo that many are forced to carry I wonder if it makes it worse?
I hate malfunctions. Glad everyone is OK! I know few guys that have shot over 100,000 rounds through their Glocks with excellent results.

Its tough to know what actually happend but that is a possibility. we talked about it and like i said he is and excellent marksman but you never know in that situation. We use federal P + hydroshock ammo and the only time i had a malfunction the cartrige must have been bad cause it got jammed in the barrel the only way to get it out was a hammer. so needless to say I examine every round that will be in service when im working.
I've only had two mashed rounds one in the 19 and one in the 21. Thank god not in a panic situation!
Fortunately I hooked up with a couple of guys in the local glock ring that knew what they were talking about!
Both were caused by excessive lube on the slides and not cleaning the slides after 200+ rounds. From now on it is carb cleaner and wd no more lubing the slides.
Not an expert but 17 out of 18 at 50 yd is not bad. I'm not as good with the 45, yet the 45 feels better.

You could shoot a GLOCK w/o oil just fine. Not a good idea for the longevity of the gun though. There are 5 factory oiling points. Oil them each with a drop! LOL.
As for GLOCKs in general, I love them. All I shoot in pistols right now is GLOCKs. I think anyone considering buying a GLOCK owes it to theirself to try a GLOCK 30 or GLOCK 21. For some reason, the .45 GLOCKs are just SO nice to shoot. Lots of people think .45s recoil too much, but for some reason with the .45 GLOCKs, the recoil is more of a solid, rearward recoil, which allows for faster follow-up shots than the wrist-snapping recoil of .40 pistols. I just hate the snappy .40s. It isn't that it's more recoil, it's that it's more of an upward recoil, which is a problem. I also think that the .40 is a bastard cartridge that is over-pressured, resulting in quite a few instances of KBs (kabooms), although granted, they're usually with reloaded ammo. But it IS a very high-pressure cartridge. So...not my preference. 9mm or .45 it is.

I have a Kimber Pro Carry 2. I was never too fond of the Glock style- prefer the traditioal 1911. I am not a real serious shooter but find the Kimber very accurate. The tolerances are extremely close. If used with a sob holster it conceals well.
