Angry George Bush and Seat belts

So who has seen the lame footage and big deal over Bush not wearing his seatbelt on his ranch? He is ON A RANCH! We never wear them out here, and there is such a controversy over that now. I guess because of his safety week, but still, how ridiculous.

The only place that I will not wear my seatbelt is here on my own property ... and even then I feel kinda nekkid without it on.

Typical election season crud being slung around to detract from the real issues. Jeez ... sure glad there isn't anything important going on in the world these days .

I heard something a military man said on the radio yesterday ..."We in the military are at war ... the rest of the country is out shopping".

I wear mine all the time on the road. But on the ranch-probably 15 total miles of roads, some improved some not, a seatbelt does a lot of hurting. Plus speeds not exceeding 25...

Does speed make a difference for belt use? I had my crawler in 1st pushing dirt today and had my belt on.

If you've ever been launched off of a machine you'll soon discover a seat belt is more important then an ego trip!!

D2, You got that right. A couple weeks ago we took the sand buggy out on a single lane extremely bumpy gravel road....107 mph. Wish I had pictures of the bruises from the 5 point harness!!

There are even belts on some of the exercise equipment at the health club.

Always wear belts.

What ever I may want to say will get this post moved to that "other" site.

Got a question, why a second site instead of just another forum here?? Too many ruffles getting feathered?

Did I just close it?

Bush was on private property - his own - law enforcement has no jurisdiction. If he chooses to wear or not to wear that is his own decision. While on public highways it IS the law in all states to wear the seatbelt. I sometimes do not use my seatbelt when on my own place, other times I do, again MY private property - my choice.

We all know that the emphasis of the 'click it or ticket' is to protect people in the event of an accident. We also all know that there are times when someone dies strapped into the seat, but we also all know that in the majority of cases the seatbelt does prevent serious injury.

Just because the man is the President of the US doesn't make him any more different than anyone else, but he was on his own private land. The media needs to find a way to discuss REAL news that is taking place in the REALTIME world. Whatever is happening in Bushland that truly affects me as a citizen I would like to hear, otherwise, it's his business.
