GENERAL AMARATRAC"S

Have a chance to buy 12 new tire take off's (chevy silerado) for a GOOD price. they are 245/70/17 load range d (8 ply).
are these to light a tire for my 3500 dually?

I had D's in the past, pretty weak in the side wall. Depends on what you are going to do with them. Mine were 35's though, so they acted diferent anyway.
They max out at like 50psi which is about the minimun on your E's at.

I ran D rated tires on my dually one time.
Sidewalls were way too weak.
Even when run overinflated, they wore on the outside edges due to side wall flex and steering inputs felt vague, mushy.
Next set was back to E rated tires.
Much more secure handling, and they wear evenly.
And I don't tow.

Well with a truck that pumps out close to 800 Tq THAT doesent even count.......
It was just a little too big to fit in the glovebox.

I've been running load range d's for the last 80k miles and I haven't had a problem. We run them on our dmax back home and it tows 10k or so lbs about once a week and they are doing fine.

my new one is a dually, wondered if they would work with weight distributed accross 4 tire. I can buy the 12 of them for 700.00
