Geico266 -v- P.J. .... Original VP-44 Challenge

As you may or maynot know I have a "99" CTD with the original VP-44. While there have been many threads about the injection pump and there is no doubt there are issues, but there are many that run well for years and 100's of thousands of miles.

P.J has bet me that mine won't last to 200,000 miles. I think the bet is $1,000 or $1. I can't remember. Remember this is a family web site so no wagering!

Who will win?

Will Geico beat out P.J. in this war of nerves? Will P.J. win and Geico is stranded by the side of the road waiting for a Ferd tow truck? Will Shovel head ever get his truck running again?

Stay tuned.........same CTD time.... same CTD channel! (for those of you who remember Batman.)

Who cares?

Hahahahahaha ... buddy, you just jinxed yourself by making it public.

It probably would have made it to 300k but you went and posted a poll..... now your next run to the local 7/11 may be your last

A week ago, I was reading all those "My Pump Died" posts..........
I was feelin' pretty good too, mine was still running like a dream at 83,000 miles, even with the Comp wire hooked up.
THEN, driving down the road on Wednesday evening,....the RUDE awakening.

No ill wishes toward you, but I think you're on borrowed time..........

Keep pourin the oil to it... Power service, 2 Cycle, Engine oil, etc... Keep it lube up... Grab a CPU heatsink and glue it on the electronics... You might get there...

I don't baby it either. Last Sat I raced & beat an 02 CDT. He had to shift and I didn't. I wonder if bio diesel helps?

I do believe you will make it but I didn't vote that way . My 1st IP made it to 241k and my very first post was about that failure.

Uuuha.... ha, haaa............

You in for it buddy. Not just because of poor taste in political parties either.

I'll tell you what though, even if it died tonight on your way home you are doing a heck of a lot better than most of us!

I was going to dig up that thread last night after reading about Ed's misfortune, but I'm too lazy. I remeber making the comment, I think I gave you 120 days or something,(should be sometime in February I think) I don't remember a specific mileage?

I think you said it would not last til Jan 1st, 2006. Seeing as how that is in 2 days, and because I'm a "kinder & gentler" conservative I'll give you til 200,000 miles on the OD! That's 6 months to a year away......

The gauntlet has been thrown down. It's now a Dem -v- Rep thing!

Hmmmmmm. I could have sworn I only put 4 choices on the poll. I'll bet that dang janitor is up to no good again. What is REALLY sad it gets the most votes!
