Re:Gas Mileage Problems
Go to Autozone, when they're slow, they'll hook up th OBDII and check for trouble codes. You'll probably find you need some O2 sensors and some other Emissions crap! When your sensors go, your computer has a default program to reduce emissions, which sends your performance to the basement.

Re:Gas Mileage Problems
I too have a 318, but it is a 2000 model. I noticed my fuel mileage has gone down this winter. I attribute my low mileage to the 180 degree thermostat I installed last Spring, but it could be O2 sensors as well. I currently have 79,000 on the odometer.

The bad fuel mileage of my 318 is another reason I am going to get the diesel next time. In my opinion, diesels are better all around, even if you just use it for a daily driver.

Re:Gas Mileage Problems
what do u think ur fuel milage should be? 10mpg sound about right to me. My 98 got 10mpg all the time loaded or unloaded. Winter gas will drop ur MPG 1 to 2. A bad o2 sencer should make the check engine light come on.
