Fuel injection cleaning for gassers
Anyone ever get any positive results on those fuel injection cleaning services from the dealers?
The reason I ask is because my 98 3.2 Intrepid (230+K miles) gets a misfire on cylinders 1 & 3 but only when I stand on the throttle. Nothing I can feel but it sets off the CIL most any time I get on the throttle hard. Usually right as it's shifting from 1st to second or 2nd to 3rd. Again it's nothing that I can feel during acceleration just keeps throwing that code up. I've tried new plugs swapping the coils around but no changes.
I have a friend who works for a GM dealership that swears by it (sold by BG) but I need more input than just his to pay the dealer (or who ever)to do this.
Thanks!!

My daughter's Caravan develops a hesitation and sets a code every once in awhile.
A half can of SeaFoam in the tank, a good highway trip and all's well for another couple of months.

I've tried seafoam. I ran a can every other tank for a month. Used Berryman's in between Seafoam tanks. Still does it.
Funny thing is I'm not feeling any hesitation at all.

BG is an excellent product. I used it when I was turning wrenches for a living. The fuel injector cleaning service is great. Find out how much the dealer will do it for then call around to other repair shops and I bet you will get the exact same service for a much better price!! You can then run a can of there 44K every 4-6 months to really keep them clean.
BG is the only product I have found that truly works. Get a can of 44K and the spray intake cleaner to clean the throttle body with. One can of 44K every 20K is all you need but since you have never done a cleaning. Let the dealer do it. They will run the engine off of one can first, then mist some through the throttle body. After this the spark plugs will be black as all. They will pour one can of 44K in your tank and take it down the road. It is not uncommon for it smoke like crazy during this process if the intake cleaner has puddled in the intake manifold. After I did all this I would change the plugs again. If they are new, don't worry about it, they will just look like crap. I once did a service on my 1990 Nissan 300zTT with 140K. I was only getting 200 miles to a tank of fuel (15 gallons). After I was done, I started getting 300 miles to a tank.
