well i know a lot of us use firefox, what version do you use, and what add ons, and other helper apps do you use that others might find usefull....... I use firefox, skinned with the noia extreme skin, I use adblock plus to stop the ads, I have gone in and tweaked for speed in the about:config area, I also use foxmarx to sync my favorites from computer to computer......... clippings I use for frequently typed stuff...... and even an ie tab for online streams that do not work on ff3 for some reason. I am sure there are more things, but this will get the thread goin.

I have FF3 and add block plus, the IE tab for just in case and the Get mail for my outlook express mail. I just did the speed thing right now and WOW!!!! what a difference.
I have the same things plus the translator on my laptop. Looks like I need to do the speed upgrade to it as well now

You will see a long box that says Filter Field. It looks like the box for your browser. As you type, it will auto-fill in for you but just type all the letters in network.http and remeber NO QUOTES marks (" )

Could you guys shed some light on the benefits of firefox? I have it loaded on my computer, and have used it before, but I cannot see any benefit to using it. In fact, it seemed a little more cumbersome. Do you have to use the add-ons(?) or skins(?) that you mentioned above to make it better?
You'll have to forgive my ignorance, I'm not much of a "techie".

HOW TO SPEED UP FIREFOX:
1. Open Firefox, and type about:config in the address bar. Don’t worry about the warning that comes out.
2. Use the filter above to find network.http.pipelining and set it to True by double clicking on it.
3. Create a new boolean value named network.http.pipelining.firstrequest and set that to True, as well.
4. Find network.http.pipelining.maxrequests, double click on it, and change its value to 8.
5. Now look for network.http.proxy.pipelining and again set it to True.
6. Create two new integers named nglayout.initialpaint.delay and content.notify.interval, setting them to 0.
Now restart your browser and check a few heavy-loading websites to see if those changes worked or not.
