Dealers also sell to Law Enforcement agencies, which CAN obtain automatic weapons.

The requirements have certainly changed over the years.

Regular FFL is not that hard to get but regulatory agencies can still be a PIA and it is my understanding you have to be able to prove a certain amount of buisness transactions a year to retain it. (I might be wrong on the last part)

as i said before, you do not need a license it is not required [to own a machine gun]. you must have passed the back ground check, pay the 200 dollar transfer fee and get the atf's blessing. but not a license, just a tax stamp on a piece of paper in the end.

So is it $200 stamp per gun, or for any gun?

It's 200 bucks per class 3 weapon and you will have to send your fingerprints and a picture of yourself to the batf. Everything has to be done by your local sherrif or police department, Then the dealer will have to mail off all your information and you wait for your stamp to come back. You do not get the gun till your paperwork comes back approved. My first one took six months to return. Now that's been a long time ago i don't know what the time limit one is now. I done all my buying years ago, They are waaaay overpriced now, A lot of fun to shoot but you can go through a lot of ammo quick.

The A3 is the Flat top, and the A4 has the light weight 16" barrel. It can be a flat top or with a carry handle.

Question

If somebody has time:

Do our troops in Iraq have AR-15's or M-16's?

A guy told me that they are not full auto anymore. They have a 3 shot burst only & single shot. The ones in Vietnam had full auto?.

Our troops have M-16's. They have the semi auto and 3 round burst. Marine Force Recon get semi auto and full auto M-4's.
