Everybodys Music Preference?

I haven't seen this done on here since i have been here, don't know if it has been at all. What the heck i will make a thread about it.

So what is everybody's music genre preference? List in your posts what your fav. artist/band is from the genre or genres you picked. The poll is multi choice.

My top three in no order would be:
Rock~ AC/DC,Mettalica
Country~Montgomery Gentry,Tim Mcgraw
Metal~KoRn,Disturbed

I like most of the country artists,i grew up around classic rock and the older country. I also like mostly all rock and metal bands,i just can't stand the ones that scream to no end into the mic where you cant even understand or even begin to think they are saying something.

I listen to slipknot and others alike,i can understand what they are saying.

I guess i can contridict myself since i like alot of the bands that scream, but to a point where you can still understand them. Like i will listen to slipknot, cradle of filth, cryptopsy,Otep, & others alike,i will also listen to alot of bands that scream to no end just for the music itself. So i guess you could say i listen to all kinds of metal, rock,& country.

Texas/Red Dirt Music...

Some would call it alt country. Robert Earl Keen, Cross Canadian Ragewwd, Brandon Jenkins, Stoney LaRue.

I had a couple hundred CDs in my truck when it was stolen

I like alot of different music, but no urban hip/hop/Rap Crap.

I have listened to my CD's of Allison Kraus and Union Station (Lonely Runs Both Ways) and Disturbed (Believe and 10,000 Fists) in a single short trip. Enjoyed them both thoroughly.

I station hop alot between country and rock and pop.

I picked country, but I would rather it be the old stuff. That includes bluegrass style.

Saying that, the tunes usually only play when the wife is with me or on a very boring trip. Most times, I turn the radio on for the news, then shut it off. Too much repeat stuff on the radio, and I don't like having CD's all over the place.

I just wanted to make sure I was going to be the ONLY one.

Being a teenager in the late 80's early 90's, I had a lot of MTV exposure. This is a pretty easy poll, most of the membership from the south/midwest???? I'm pretty sure County will prevail with Rock in a close 2nd.

I imagine a few more will pop in, they'll say how they "listen to all types of music". This is just a cover statement to ease the sting of everyone thinking
YOU listen to RAP?? (Ever??)
I would venture to say that Rap stays under 12 and less than 10%.
I can listen to anything, that's the main difference between the younger guys and the old heads. You get a 4
38-45 yr. old around some rap/pop or hi-hop, you'd think their ears are gonna fall off if they have to continue to hear it. There will be all kinds of broad comments such as "How do you listen to this stuff" and "I can't understand one word they are saying"
I tend to believe that most of this is still Racism and the lack of social flexibility that still grips our older generations.
