anybody else find these commercials to be idiotic?? I especially like the jab they take at their fuel economy... when the "SUV" is gulping water at the gas station...

I don't know what you're talking about but I hate SUVs, they are a waste of fuel IMO. The commercials go after some dream of the owners being freed from work and going offroading but how often do you see a SUV offroading?

Haven't seen the commercial but I think there's not much of the SUV in SUVs these days. Maybe a few are decent like the Xterra (locking rear diff) the rest are redesigned soccer mom vans.

Good parody with good info - not that the SUV pilots will heed any of it.

I really need to get a couple of Scouts back on the road - the original SUVs - although back in that day they are listed as SW - stationwagons - on the body style. Keeps the insurance down, not that the insurance people have ever heard of an International Scout 80 - heck, when I asked for a quote on my 1953 IH R-110 pickup the one person in the office who recognized the model wanted to quote me commercial rates.

And guess who is paying for this?

I heard on the news the other day that the NHTSA was going to be doing public education on how to drive an SUV

maybe they should just run PSA's on how not to talk on your cell phone or put on make-up while driving...

THIS JUST IN,

It is SAFER to drive without the big mac in hand A The make-up in and B the Phone on the shoulder and NOT lookin in the other seat to find that pack of smokes!

Soccer mom Blames Ford motor company for her rolling SUV when she Drove it in the ditch this morning while applying eyeliner.

I do appologize to the female crowd , I know guys talk on the phone and eat and what not too, I just happen to see more girls do it :P

I was at a stop light one morning recently and thinking "man, the traffic has really gotten bad over the last years". The woman in front was making funny gestures and looking at her rearview. Turned out she was putting her makeup on. I looked next to me. That woman was doing her nails. The guy in back of me was yakking on his phone. Ridiculous.

From what I've experienced in our area, the drivers always have to keep one hand free to be able to render the "You're Number one" universal sign.
Seen several (male & female) let go of the steering wheel while traveling at highway speeds & yakking on the phone to "bird" me.

I guess they didn't appreciate my Grovers urging them to keep up with traffic, or move out of the way.
