Electric cooling fan sizing
I figure some of you guys might have a good answer.
My neighbor has a 1949 Jeepster with a Ford 289/C4 out of a mustang in it. He's wants to put an electric fan in, but doesn't know how to really size it right. Its going to be a mild hot rod when he's done, probably get driven to shows and stuff like that.
How many CFM electric fan should he be looking to fit in there?
Thanks

With no A/C, it should be a minimum of 2200 CFM. There's nothing wrong with going bigger, though. If A/C is going in, he needs the biggest one he can fit. No less than 3000 cfm.

Thanks Dave,
No AC, I figured on going with a 2500 to 2800 CFM fan depending on what will fit in there best. I'll probably have to help him more the radiator forward to fit the fan in there or he has to go to a short style water pump.
