Earthquake!!!
Dang it... my first real earthquake... I've been in a few little tremors before, nothing like today. Kinda cool, actually... it was a 7.2 in Baha, Mexico, I'd guess it was about a 5 here in Yuma. I was tailgating outside with some friends, I thought someone was shaking the truck. I was like, 'Stop shaking the truck, you almost spilled my beer!' I looked over at the house, the windows were bowing, the wife's 3/4 ton was shaking something serious, and my truck was actually rocking. Enough to move the pictures on the wall, not enough to knock anything off. Shook the kegerator enough to make the next few pours a little foamy, but that did not take long to resolve
Welcome to the west coast, madaht!

Must be kinda shook up, and the foam went straight to your brain....
Seriously, earthquakes are cool, and at least nobody got hurt, and nothing broken.
You'll feel more, guaranteed.
On a side note, I was down at NAPA the other day, and a couple Chinook choppers came in low and slow to the airport. You want to feel a building shake....

Funny... I've felt a lot of man made quakes... those dang 18 pilots buzzing us... kinda like some top gun!
The foam was quickly disposed of down the hatch... we have a procedure her for that!
I'm really not that scared, to be honest. We live in a one story, which is rented, so anything that happens to the house is not my problem. I have a tent.

I used to live in an A-frame that was directly on the approach for and Army runway. I could easily tell which kind of helicopter was flying over by how much the walls shook. Chinooks were by far the biggest shakers. The Blackhawks weren't too bad and the Kiowas were like flys....

Quakes are fun ... as long as you are in a location where you can safely enjoy them.
My first was in Long Beach back in '87. Other than the carbide tipped milling cutters that were flying off the walls of the machine shop I was in at the time ... it was really cool watching everything, and I do mean everything start rolling like it was on a boat at sea.
The people stuck on the draw bridge outside the base had a different outlook on the situation !! Their pucker factor was pretty high !!!
Glad you and the family came through unaffected, Hat !!
Cheers,
PISTOL

I grew up in Northridge, CA - I experienced a lot of EQ's there through the years. The Sylmar quake in 1971 did a lt of damage, my home was damaged considerably, it was a 6.1 quake. The Northridge quake in the 90's really tore up the San FernandoValley.

My son was in Cali for the summer last year when a 6.something struck. He called me in a state of panic asking what to do. I said I don't know, never been through one.
Glad you saved the beer.
