The wife was looking at them as I was almost done with the new house, and then she decided on acid stained floors with no carpet and walla the stain for 2000 sqft is less than the vacum cleaner and we love it. Goodluck,,Rick

I guess he did the story last week.
Here's a link to the webpage version of the test, I guess it passed.

Got my wife a Kirby (at her request). They came in, did the demo and asked for like 2 grand for the thing. I laughed them out the door. Guy called back a few days later and (after asking my brother-in-law who sold Rainbows at the time what it would go for) told him I'd take one for $700. He agreed and now we have a vac that should last forever - unless the dog tears it to pieces one of these days!

Kirbys are awesome.
I've got one my Grandmother gave me, that's probably as old as I am, complete with all the attachments. (Including the paint sprayer attachment that my Grandad used to repaint his early 50s Plymouth Fire Engine red in my father's garage when I was a kid. You can still see the overspray on the walls & floor.)
The vacuum still works great.
Heavy as an old Chrysler Imperial, and twice as tough.
You just can't kill those things.

Vacuums SUCK !
The wife would dust then vacuum 30 min later everything she just dusted was dusty again, especially the Boob tube if it was on. It attracted the stuff faster than anything. Anyway after two Sears canister 3+ and a 4+ HP super duper job she needed a new one. Mainly because if I was in the house while she was running it I would get all stuffed up and red eyed and be miserable for a couple of hours. I think it blew about as much stuff out the back end as it brought in the front. Did all the research and narrowed it down to a new HEPA MEHLE made in Germany Big $$ Told my boss (the guy at work) about my decision, he is from Canada and said you need a whole house vacuum they have had one for years (I guess its the norm ?) I bought a kit on E-Bay after a lot more research. It was a bit more than the Mehle I think I have $700 in it or so. It vents to the outside We are really pleased with it. Installed it over my Christmas vacation, bit of a pain running the pipes but well worth the trouble and $. Wish I could post some pics for you. Here is a link to one like it (the entire kit) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW Who ever would have thought big bad diesel dudes would be rappin about friken vacuums

The last time a man told me that the vacuum cleaner would not fit in his hand, I told him to bend over and I'd shove it in a place that would not-so-easily conform to the handle!
