I plan on sleeping all of the 18-24 hour flight. I'm sure I'll manage. I'll have at least 8 months before I have to leave again...

take a xanax and drink a beer, you will be able to make it most of the way back to the US.

When I was in Asia, I drank almost no caffeine. it was either water, beer or whiskey. When I got to my home airport, grab a redbull and I was ready to drive home...

Afternoon DTR!

Hat, nice gift the wife got for you. You'll be able to host DTR get-togethers now! Hope you have a safe flight back to the states, and thanks for your service over there!

Gonna go work in the yard for a little while. Had to relax after the GF and I got back from lunch today, think I ate a little too much.

What are ya, early to mid 20's? At that age, I considered a 20 hour day a short day. between work, college, study, mountain biking, and hobbies.
Personally, I find the flight east easier than the flight west. going east, its a short night but you arrive in the day time. I hate arriving at night.

By your third or fourth trip to Japan, that 18 hour flight will be down to 4 drinks, two movies, dinner, sushi breakfast, a nap, and 10 to 12 trips between the business and the back of the plane.

I could never spend that long in an airplane. I hate flying but I will if I really have to. Bad enough the flight the gf and I are taking mexico in the fall is 4 hrs, that will be a 4 beverage flight at least to keep me calm. 18 hrs to japan would mean at least a case or brew.

Worked the tomato plants this afternoon. Did some pruning and tied them up somemore. Already have about 40-50 tomatos on the vines, a few are getting close to being ripe. There are alot of flowers still on the vines, should be a pretty good crop. Brought in about a dozen carrots and about a dozen pickles today. The radishes did bad this year, dunno why either. They've always done well but for some reason they didn't grow well. Not the only one either, a neighbor was having the same problem with his radishes too.

Got a call from grandpa today, looks like him and I are headed to Florida on tuesday to pick up his stuff that he left behind. Takin my truck and his enclosed trailer. Looks like we will be gone tues-thurs.

chaikwa.
So, I don't hear a thank you for the extra protein. Very ungrateful.

Lazy day today - - fell asleep on the lanai - - in the sun - - in my suit (no, not my birthday suit) and noted a couple bright red spots on inside of my legs - - hmmm, must have turned a bit sideways - - it was quite warm. Great sleep.

Hurry home, Hat - - fly safe.

Bob

a beer an hour??? slow poke... I start with a couple rum and cokes the first time the stewardesses come by, dinner gets a couple bottles of wine, followed by a couple more rums (unless Im flying singapore air, then its Bailey's because those girls carry 1/2L bottles of Baileys and know how to serve it properly).
by the time I finish dinner and after dinner drinks, I watch a movie and go to sleep.

The only time I dont like flying is when its domestic. I can drive just about anywhere in the US faster than I can fly. Part of this is due to planes only fly to Memphis or Dallas from here. Thats an hour flight. get there an hour early, takes 45 minutes to get to the airport. From there, you get an hour layover minimum. thats almost 4 hours before I take the next flight to the destination. you can get along way in 4 hours, throw another three or four hours ontop of that for delays, your anywhere east of the rockies from my house.
