Thank your brother for his service. How's that tooth today Cincy?

Morning all. Happy Thanksgiving!

Today is Thursday, November 26th.

On this day in 1789 - U.S. President Washington set aside this day to observe the adoption of the Constitution of the United States.

1825 - The first college social fraternity, Kappa Alpha, was formed at Union College in Schenectady, NY.

1832 - Public streetcar service began in New York City.

1867 - J.B. Sutherland patented the refrigerated railroad car.

1940 - The ***** forced 500,000 Jews of Warsaw, Poland to live within a walled ghetto.

1941 - U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed a bill establishing the fourth Thursday in November as Thanksgiving Day. In 1939 Roosevelt had signed a bill that changed the celebration of Thanksgiving to the third Thursday of November.

1942 - U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt ordered nationwide gasoline rationing to begin December 1.

1943 - The HMS Rohna became the first ship to be sunk by a guided missile. The German missile attack led to the death of 1,015 U.S. troops.

1950 - China entered the Korean conflict forcing UN forces to retreat.

1973 - Rose Mary Woods, told a federal court that she was responsible for the 18-1/2 minute gap in a key Watergate tape. Woods was U.S. President Nixon's personal secretary.

Okay people, time to get up and get going! It's Thanksgiving but that doesn't mean there ain't things that need doing!

chaikwa.
Nothing mentioned about the pilgrims in those dates? I've actually read about thwe inventing of the refer car.
Saw a good share of deer. The first one was a nice 8 point, but he was in front of the cabin across the creek. 30-06 would gone through the walls after going through him. The other nice buck was up by Thompsonville. I saw 3 or 4 going through the brush with their heads down. All I could see were there backs. I assumed one was a spike we had been seeing and let go. The buck put his head up for a second and then back down. I had them in the scope, but couldn't make out which showed the antlers. They were moving through pretty quickly, already being spooked by somebody.

Nightshift catching up. Roads north of Reed City were pretty bad with low visibility. Might put a pic up tonight. Pretty chatty day in here. Don't have to squint to understand Claude anymore... times are changing.

Careful on your Black Friday. Some stores are opening at midnight and we're already having problems. Everybody ready to spend their Obamabucks.

Morning all.

Still all bloated and too full.

Today is Friday, November 27th.

On this day in 1701 - Anders Celsius was born in Sweden. He was the inventor of the Celsius thermometer.

1779 - The College of Pennsylvania became the University of Pennsylvania. It was the first legally recognized university in America.

1901 - The Army War College was established in Washington, DC.

1910 - New York's Pennsylvania Station opened.

1963 - U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson delivered his first address to a joint session of Congress.

1970 - Pope Paul VI, visiting the Philippines, was attacked at the Manila airport by a Bolivian painter disguised as a priest.

1973 - The U.S. Senate voted to confirm Gerald R. Ford as vice president after the resignation of Spiro T. Agnew.

Kind of a slow history day... everyone else was probably too bloated and full to do anything of significance!

Morning folks. Cold and sunny today. Going to take it easy as I'm suppose to drive the bus but the rumor mill has me off tonight although that hasn't been confirmed yet. The Iron Bowl kicks off at 1330 so that's what's on the schedule until bus time.

Mornin' All!

Good day today and it isn't just because it's 16* above.

Just got word that the State of AK is going to fund the ACOA contract as arbitrated. Retro pay, leave, health insurance and the works.

Kinda like an early Christmas.......
