Suffice it to say I have a really weak 2nd hand, and in my frustration I strapped the BHA from the box, not the pin...

It'll take me a year to live that one down...

Morning.

It's Thursday, October 14th.

On this day in 1644 - William Penn was born. Penn was the colonist that founded the Pennsylvania colony for Quakers.

1890 - Dwight David 'Ike' Eisenhower was born. He became the Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in World War II and eventually the 34th U.S. President.

1912 - Theodore Roosevelt was shot while campaigning in Milwaukee, WI. Roosevelt's wound in the chest was not serious and he continued with his planned speech. William Schrenk was captured at the scene of the shooting.

1933 - **** Germany announced that it was withdrawing from the League of Nations.

1943 - The Radio Corporation of America finalized the sale of the NBC Blue radio network. Edward J. Noble paid $8 million for the network that was renamed American Broadcasting Company.

1944 - German Field Marshal Erwin Rommel committed suicide rather than face execution after being accused of conspiring against Adolf Hitler and the execution that would follow.

1944 - During World War II, the Second British Parachute Brigade liberated the city of Athens.

1947 - Over Rogers Dry Lake in Southern California, pilot Chuck Yeager flew the Bell X-1 rocket plane and became the first person to break the sound barrier.

1962 - The Cuban Missile Crisis began when U.S. reconnaissance aircrafts photographed Soviet construction of intermediate-range missile sites in Cuba.

1964 - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his non-violent resistance to racial prejudice in America. He was the youngest person to receive the award.

1987 - Jessica McClure, 18 months old, fell down an abandoned well in Midland, TX. The rescue took 58 hours.

1998 - The FBI charged Eric Robert Rudolph with 6 bombings including the 1996 Olympic bombing in Atlanta. Rudolph was not in custody at the time the charges were filed.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Why is it that before 9/11 they always showed the emergency broadcast system test, and on 9/11 they never used it?

Coffee, tea & ph00 are ready.

Have a safe day!

Mornin' everybody. Just for a change thought that I would jump in and say hi and sample the stuff here you guys and gals call coffee. Coffee? That stuff is

Crying today 'cuz my truck got sick yesterday and is presently at the Dodge dealer. Was at a light (fortunately without the fiver) had it in gear with the clutch in when the clutch pedal got light and suddenly the truck wanted to take off. Had to shut the engine down and hit the brakes really hard to stop it. Next light no problem, but for the next few lights the problem rapidly got worse until I lost the clutch completely as it would not disengage. Figured that the problem was the known internal leak in the hydraulics. Tried to get parts from Autozone, Carquest, NAPA and O'Reily's. Nobody had any parts and no stock in the warehouse - except in Alaska. Finally wrestled the truck to the Dodge dealer who had the parts. As I have limited tools with me, decided to have them install the new parts. This was at 4:30 p.m. They tried to drive the truck into the bay, but could not and had to push it in. They did not finish the job before quitting time, so hope to have it back this morning to hook up the fiver and continue my trip. This is going to hurt my credit card! Hope to be in Harlingen, Texas later today and cross the border back into Mexico tomorrow. Just hope the dealer does not mess anything else up.

Actually the kit I linked is wireless, no need for the cradle.

Tanks for the link Blake. How hard would it be to remove that system from a truck? I need it in the office while on location then in the truck when I drive home.

Think that is possible? or just a big PITA?

Well I did dads as a permanent install with all of the components hidden and wiring tucked away. You cant even tell he has the system.

But, if you want it portable and dont mind the wiring and unit showing, its just a plug to the cigarette lighter and a roof mounted magnetic antenna. Literally take you 10 seconds to remove.

Stan, hope that the situation is the minimum with all parts available and some low cost ones at that. everyone has to have one road trip with a repair, hope that is your only one. we can start a fund for you......LOL

Scotty! did you say that you had started your training?! like continue to haul those big rocks around and such?!! eek. limit it to carrying your daughters around, heheh

cool to listen to you wyo jeff , colorado wonderboy, and blakeyadmin with all the gadgets. guess we forget how the wide open western states have no cell coverages......wind farms and hills are good for one thing- they bounce signal strength.

layin low today, got contract negotiations (final) tonight. then done!

Top of the day folks!

A jawbone I have never tried, it is attached to your ear and only you would hear the incoming signal. The blue is clipped to the visor or setting on your desk, it is good for a speaker phone type call ( or sound can be sent to phone only - you are asked that on an incoming call..

Here is the link to the blue ant systems I have the supertooth 3 (that's all they offered 3 yrs ago) The S1 and S4 are improved models:

http://www.myblueant.com/compare/index.php

I have the cradle in the truck towards the top of the dash so that I can see who's calling prior to answering it. This also makes it easy to dial out as well and gives you the safety of a hands free system. Blake on your wireless Wilson what is the range? If the truck was parked outside the office would it still interface? That might work in Jeff's situation
