The DTR Pool Deck 090607-090613

This don't mean you have to come in your swim suit... some of you would probably make a buzzard fall off a gut wagon...

Mornin, DTR. Almost a good weekend, my last one on the island.

Wet bar at one corner, and a nice smoker grill on the other... with a deep in ground pool, complete with high dive and twisty slide.

Break out the SPF!

Hey Rob, good to see you.

I was thinking the same thing, but could not (or did not want to put any extra thought into it) figure out how to say it like that.

On another note, I drank my first boiler maker this weekend, I'm still on the fence. Tasted like Budweiser and Jack Daniels... (I love both) Reminded me of the whiskey, honey, and lemon that my grandmother used to give me when I was sick.

Wish summer was HERE. Weather idiot said we were going to have a cool, wet summer. I don't think we've seen 80 degrees yet this year.

On this day in 1775 - The United Colonies changed their name to the United States.

1776 - Richard Henry Lee of Virginia proposed to the Continental Congress a resolution calling for a Declaration of Independence.

1942 - The Battle of Midway ended. The sea and air battle lasted 4 days. Japan lost four carriers, a cruiser, and 292 aircraft, and suffered 2,500 casualties. The U.S. lost the Yorktown, the destroyer USS Hammann, 145 aircraft, and suffered 307 casualties.

1942 - Japan landed troops on the islands of Attu and Kiska in the Aleutians. The U.S. invaded and recaptured the Alutians one year later.

1944 - Off of the coast of Normandy, France, the Susan B. Anthony sank. All 2,689 people aboard survived.

1948 - The Communists completed their takeover of Czechoslovakia.

1966 - Sony Corporation unveiled its brand new consumer home videotape recorder. The black and white only unit sold for $995.

Dang it, boy! I'm 6', and stay anywhere between 195 and 215... I can't imagine another 115 on top of that.

Ok, off I go!

I thought they were pre-shrunk.

Afternoon all. Looks like the blind squirrel found the nut, Stewart won Pocono. (wife's happy)

Roasted chicken, mashed taters and salad for supper tonight.
