So what's that mean?

Is that a "Begle, stop fondling your Potutoo Bug and get the darn video finished" reply?

Well, unfortunately, the computer I was making the video on decided to crash. Get this; I had to move it to another room, so I jiggled everything around in it I'm sure. But I hooked it all up, turned it on, and it loads for 5-10 seconds and then reboots. Then it boots for a few seconds, gets past POST, and reboots itself. If I go into BIOS, I can click around for no longer than 20 seconds, and it reboots. The motherboard sees memory, I can boot to a CD (only for 10 seconds, though), it sees hard drives, I've replaced monitor and video card. But it still only runs through the first 30 seconds of boot up max before it reboots itself, and it does this no matter what I do.

So what do all of you computer gur's think? I guess that it must be a power supply; I used to build PC's for a living, and it's a new one on me. I've isolated everything else, it must be an electrical issue.

yeah, thats a bill gates windows thing. (if your running windows?) i had the same problem on one of my machines. The problem is that when your comp has a problem the developers just thought it would be easier to just dump the task and reboot. there is a setting in the bios to fix this that quits the reboot cycle and actually gives you a blue screen with an error. then research that error and get her fixed, hope this helps.

It can't be a Windows problem, because sometimes it decides to reboot before it even sees the operating system.

I think I have a shorting power supply... How much do 600 watters run nowadays?

Yeah, I got it fixed for now.
(No telling when it's going to puke again, since I don't know what was broken...)

Now as soon as I pull two F's into the B range by the end of four academic weeks, I'll finish that video...

I think you're right about it being the PSU. I would check cpu and memory also. Then I wouldn't know where to start if all of those things work.

An electrical physics class and, apparently, an environmental science class.

It has more to do with an overall lack of ambition than a waste of time. Or rather, the overall lack of ambition is the underlying cause of wasting time.

Hello academic probation. I guess this means that I'll have to spend even more time, than usual, all by my self, which may or may not, be possible...
