A fine good morning to this wonderful looking groupy. Quiet around here this early except that RAD guy - - what's he doing up at 4am? Oh well, probably went to bed at 8.
At least he put the coffee pot on - -
ummm, still good, but working toward the syrup stage.
Rain in the forecast again for today - - maybe we can start to catch up but we are coming towards our dry season. Need the rain - - Ockechobee is 4' low and it is shallow all ready. Have to keep them gorgeous bass happy - - yeh, and the gators - - and the moccasins.
OK, got cabinets to install today - - working over mama's utility room - - she wanted some more cabs and counter top. Whatever mama wants - - - - la la la - - mama gets.

Coffees on, fresh, venison, slim-jims on the counter. Better hurry, going fast. Batch of smoked salmon came out excellent too. Might try for some more this weekend. Did some fine tuneing on the new Ruger while watching the smoker. Got the Sig out for some plinking too. Looking into doing some reloading with help from my buddies uncle. .22-250 didn't go on sale with the other stuff. Watch for the deer. The bow hunters got 'em moving.

Redleg, I ran across an interesting video yesterday. A guy is firing an AR-50 sitting at a table. He fires, you hear the round hit the steel target and then a loud whistle as the round returns to the table. It hit the ground about 15 feet in front of the table and then strikes the shooter on the left side of his hearing protection knocking them off his head. Talk about a surprise!

Yeah, I usually shoot at soft targets. The best are cans or plastic jugs filled with water. The velocity hitting the water causes them to explode and rip to shreds. Thought about cutting up some swinging steel silhouettes with the torch, but they'd have to be WAY out there.
Congrats Hat. Are those some of your recruits in the background?
Half past dark still. Woke up way to early. Get an early start on things I guess.
Have to go have something to eat, pancakes, eggs and bacon sound good. feel like I'm starving this AM. Later...

Mornin, sorry I'm posting late. Got busy first thing this morning, had a few recruits decide to get in a 'arguement' this morning.
Fiver, what do you know about Lake Okeechobee? (besides spelling it wrong...) I grew up there. It is not as low as I seen it this summer.
Thanks for the congrats... 4 more for the Corps.

What do I know about the lake? Well, I know it is interesting to cross - - been coast to coast thru it several times in my boat. Been fishing on it and know it has some great bass. Overnighted on it several times (in the boat - - have some great stories about those times), but other than that, I am just newbie on the block down here - - only been around Florida about 45 years now.
Wow, am I that old? I know it is really low and meaning huge flats of land are out of the water for the first time in many years. They have been wandering the flats finding some pretty neat stuff that has been hidden underwater for many years. Listening to you on the forum I should have caught that "charm" of the swamp.

Hat, Congrats on the re-up and Thank You to you and Mrs Hat for your willingness to give 4 more for our country....and yes, you do have a smart lookin' filly there...lucky boy.....hope she gets to feeling better.
Shortround, ya still intersted in the mill in Council Grove?
we might be heading down that way Sunday anyhows...not sure yet tho
Got some much needed rain yesterday, but it means another day that i cant work my mare, and the prelimanary show is Saturday
Guess i am gonna have to swallow my pride and not show her in anything more than the walk/trot/lope class, which is a real disappointment. She is championship material and I want to do so much more with her, but the part of my brain that works is telling me that if I push her too hard and fast, i'll mess her up for along time and its worth waiting, even if it costs me a few bottles of Scotch.
been working on her flat-spins and she is going great to her left, but hasnt a clue going to her right... i can ram-rod her through it, but shouldnt..
"learn patience", yea yea , how long does that take?
Well, gonna be beautifull out today, so guess I gotta get some chores done....
Yall have a great day and stay safe...............CD

I think the world of her.Sittin in the office watching weapons, rain here. Easy day today.
Nice to see you around, Ed. Don't let Billy Gates kick your rear...
Thats better... nothing like smoked hog meat frying in a skillet to wake you up in the morning. All that fat and nitrates clogging up the arteries.
Pancakes with maple syrup, eggs and a couple more cups of coffee rounded out breakfast.
I think I'm set for the rest of the day. Finish off cleaning up the steel rack so I can get to everything a little easier and some insulating are on the agenda. Maybe a ride on the quad later if I have time.
Everyone have a good one. Have fun and drive safe.
