JUST want to give a tip that LAST YEAR's funding amount is available for FIRE GRANTS through the Feds (Assistance to Firefighters Grant, StaffingAFER) who have applied but have never been successful in getting any monies awarded. YOU HAVE TO APPLY for MENTORING. starts in January of 2009.

This will help small town rural, big city career (not that they care about axes LOL)and all in between and the money cannot be reduced BUT the stipulation is having to go through the MENTOR Program, sign up and ask through

United States Fire Administration Help Desk (google it).

Just wanted to share the Wealth...to the right people, here on DTR!!!!

(Mentoring is a program where you receive a real live person to talk with about your department's needs/goals and how to get there. they research stuff for your department's plan; walk you through the process, and keep you on time schedule for the award application period. )

Kind of Like JR, or MADHAT when you need to do a install or mod...but the government pays for it. W@@W!!!
