DTR Christmas Breakroom: Don’t drink the coffee until it thins out!
My sister in Florida has one of those that I slept on a couple of years ago. It was comfortable enough but it made me sweat like a pig. Seemed like the material its made of held body heat and in the morning it was like I slept in a swamp. Might've been different if the room temp was cooler, but my sister likes to keep the house around 70. I sleep best when it's around 50 or 60.
Man, I'm not trying to insult you, but I have not met a Cannuck that I like yet. I have almost lost my temper on some old cusswords here... guys are just pure old hateful and rude.
Angie says that we're getting the next generation, the cloud... she says that's better. She's the one that wants this thing, if I drop 5k into a bed and it sucks, she can have it in the divorce...

Mornin.
Marc, good looking turkey, too much snow...
Not much going on today. I'm off until Monday, got off at noon yesterday. Got in the hot tub this morning, it was nice. Being lazy for a few more minutes with some coffee and DTR, then it's time to get busy.
Ya'll have a good one.

Bob, sorry about the problems coming off the statins. Hopefully you'll feel a little better by Christmas.
Marc, good looking bird and Scott's right!
Scott's always right.
Morning all.
Today is Friday, December 24th, Christmas Eve. There's roughly 16 hours to go until Christmas Day and if you aren't ready yet, you never will be.
On this day in 1814 - The War of 1812 between the U.S. and Britain was ended with the signing of the Treaty of Ghent in Belgium.
1818 - Franz Gruber of Oberndorf, Germany composed the music for "Silent Night" to words written by Josef Mohr.
1851 - A fire devastated the Library of Congress in Washington, DC, destroying about 35,000 volumes.
1865 - Several veterans of the Confederate Army formed a private social club in Pulaski, TN, called the Ku Klux Klan.
1906 - Reginald A. Fessenden became the first person to broadcast a music program over radio, from Brant Rock, MA.
1914 - In World War I, the first air raid on Britain was made when a German airplane dropped a bomb on the grounds of a rectory in Dover.
1943 - U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt appointed Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower supreme commander of Allied forces as part of Operation Overlord.
1944 - A German submarine torpedoed the Belgian transport ship S.S. Leopoldville with 2,235 soldiers aboard. About 800 American soldiers died. The soldiers were crossing the English Channel to be reinforcements at the battle that become known as the Battle of the Bulge.
1948 - For the first time ever, a midnight Mass was broadcast on television. It was held at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City.
1948 - The first completely solar-heated house became occupied in Dover, MA.
1968 - The crew of the U.S. Navy ship, Pueblo, was released by North Korea. The Captain of the Pueblo, Commander Lloyd M. Bucher, and 82 of his crew were held for 11 months after the ship was seized by North Korea because of suspected spying by the Americans.
1979 - Soviet troops invaded Afghanistan in support of the country's Marxist government.
1981 - In Eastern Kazakh/Semipalatinsk, the Soviet Union performed a nuclear test.
1992 - U.S. President H.W. Bush pardoned former Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger and five others in the Iran-Contra scandal.
1998 - At Disneyland in Anaheim, CA, a tourist was hit by a piece of flying metal while waiting to board a ride. The man's wife and a Disneyland employee were also injured. Luan Phi Dawson died December 26th from his injuries.
2000 - The "Texas 7," seven convicts that had escaped a Texas prison, robbed a sports store in Irving, TX. The suspects killed Officer Aubrey Hawkins, stole $70,000, 25 weapons and clothing. The men had escaped on December 13.
And just so y'all know and can maybe say a prayer for their families, 2 Chicago firefighters were killed this week when the roof of the building they were working on collapsed. About 40 firefighters were performing overhaul on an abandoned building that had been set on fire when the bow-string roof collapsed, causing a wall to also fail and subsequently bury about a dozen firefighters.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Why are traditional Christmas colors red and green when Santa's suit is red and white?
Coffee and PH00 are ready. Yes Bob, I remembered you!
Let's get crackin'!

Mornin' all!
It's -35* still. Doesn't look like a break in the weather anytime soon.
I think I blew the front seal of my IP......
oil level is waaaaay too high, pressure is down and I blew a bunch of oil out the draft tube this morning in the driveway when the idle went way up when the pump warmed ip a bit after starting..... Guess I'll get to do a Christmas oil change for my truck..... Temporary fix till I get off this week and can pull the IP.....

I have one and sleep like a dead man on it, no more back aches, you can not feel it when the other rolls over. I agree they are warm to sleep on. They are heat activated and hold the body heat, great for the winter since my heat drops to 60 at night, nice and toasty. In the summer it can be uncomfortable with no air but I am sure you have air. It's the only mattress for me, worth every penny. I did not spend 5k, mine was around $2500 with some memory foam pillows. We have had it for about 6-7 years.
Don't listen to Chaikwa, it's the fur coat he had on under his pajamas's that made him feel like a swamp.

I had one of those Tempurpedics for a while and loved it. Slept good, no aches in the AM all was good. About 2 years in to it the wife and I both started hurting all over every morning. we slept in the spare room one in the basement one night and neither one of us hurt in the morning. Talked with a Chiropractor friend and he and his wife had the same thing happen right at the 2 year mark..... I am back to the old pillow top and the Tempur is in my kids room.....
