DTR Breakroom (Nothing fancy...just coffee and a Dragon) 11.15.2009-11.21.2009

Evening All, gonna start the new one up for everyone. Fresh coffee, tea, sweet tea, ph00, d00 (for ratlratl if he shows up), and square donuts.

Dragon had been walked and stoked and is on patrol now so do try anything funny.

Looks like I double posted the breakroom trying to correct the title at the last second. Stay in this one, the other post is set for demolition whenever Rick or one of the mods can get to it.

Oh well, what the heck. Heidi put the last post on the oldbreak room than turned out the lights. Trying to remember how to use this computer. Amazing how much changes in two months. When I left I had a really pretty 80 foot spruce tree in the back area. When I came back I have a smashed shed with a really ugly looking spruce tree on it. Luckily it wasn’t a direct hit because that’s where the chain saw was. I now have a wonderful brush fire burning outside. Back outside for bbq sausage as soon as the fire dies down enough to get close to it.

Try Outback. I saw where they've lowered the price on a couple items and now you can get their Outback Special, in a smaller size of course, for $10 now.

What??? Me??? I wasn't even there! I'm being framed! I've got an alibi, I was framed I tell you, framed! (and there weren't any corners on the donuts to start with. Stop taking the green pill)

Sucks not to have neighbors close by. Around here it would have been cleaned up before you got back.

Sad night tonight. I popped in for a quick check and had the distasteful duty of shooting a twin and putting it down. This breakroom's sibling is no more. But on the bright side, I didn't have to pick, Matt did.

Evenin' all!

Gonna be tired tonight. Got woke up at 1145 this afternoon. Grandpa put the caddy in the ditch just north of Cantwell, AK (about 150mi south of me) and totaled it. Icy bridge, kissed the guard rail couple 360s, a ditch and a large tree all conspired to place the trunk not so squarely in the back seat....... Grandpa and my uncle who was with him are ok but the caddy is a gonner.... And I just redid the rear bumper trim for him......

So 3.5 hours will have to do. At least there's coffee in here. If you drink the last cup put on another pot.

That is a draw back of not having close neighbors. The people who stay here while we are gone work the slope (two week shifts) so the house could burn down and nobody would know for many days.

Glad nobody got hurt. Hey!! Supposed to be a demo derby in Palmer this year. Get that car so it will go in a straight line again and maybe win 1K.

Gonna take a pile of work to make that happen..... Rear suspension took a good beating. Tires were at a fairly strange angle. I would like to drive in a demo derby though.....

I'll take my chances with no neighbors. Last thing I'd want is some stranger coming onto the property messing around with my shee... um, *stuff*.

You DO already... everytime you come in here you're in a verbal demolition derby!

Morning all.

Today is Sunday, November 15th.

On this day in 1777 - The Continental Congress approved the Articles of Confederation, precursor to the U.S. Constitution.

1806 - Explorer Zebulon Pike spotted the mountaintop that became known as Pikes Peak.

1889 - Brazil's monarchy was overthrown.

1901 - Miller Reese patented an electrical hearing aid.

1920 - The League of Nations met for the first time in Geneva, Switzerland.

1926 - The National Broadcasting Co. (NBC) debuted with a radio network of 24 stations. The first network radio broadcast was a four-hour "spectacular."

1939 - U.S. President Roosevelt laid the cornerstone of the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, DC.

1940 - The first 75,000 men were called to Armed Forces duty under peacetime conscription.

1965 - The Soviet probe, Venera 3, was launched from Baikonur, Kazakhstan. On March 1, 1966, it became the first unmanned spacecraft to reach the surface of another planet when it crashed on Venus.

1966 - The flight of Gemini 12 ended successfully as astronauts James A. Lovell and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin Jr. splashed down safely in the Atlantic Ocean.

1969 - In Washington, DC, a quarter of a million protesters staged a peaceful demonstration against the Vietnam War.

1992 - Richard Petty drove in the final race of his 35-year career.

Ok, lets try this approach;

I am now serving breakfast! (Yeah... ME!)

For the perusal of those that have refined tastes are some fine prosciutto and gruyere croissants, white chocolate and cherry scones, and pumpkin cranberry muffins. Also, succulent dried apricots dipped in 70% dark chocolate, plus blueberry granola filled with the natural goodness of homemade granola and dried organic blueberries ~ added to the granola is wheat bran, walnut halves, sunflower seeds, grape molasses and coconut flakes.

Other selections I'll be preparing are;

Assorted Miniature Quiche, and a delectable Smoked salmon pate' with bagels & whipped cream cheese.

Fancy Scrambled Eggs with fresh asparagus, herbs & swiss cheese.

Creole Grillades of Seared Beef Tenderloin.

Brioche French Toast with maple syrup, Sweet Potato Biscuits and pepper jelly.

For those of you with a more traditional sweet tooth; Sassy Strawberry Cupcakes - Pure strawberry cake filled with fresh strawberries and topped with decadent cream cheese icing.

Chocolate Mousse Tarts - Tart shells half-dipped in dark chocolate ganache and filled with chocolate mousse, topped with a sprinkling of cocoa powder.

And for the elders amongst us, Granola cereal with low fat yogurt, Low fat cottage cheese with fresh fruit coulis and low-fat fruit yogurt.

Bran flakes and low-fat milk with prune juice for those who need to 'go'.

The espresso that I am serving today is Espresso Bella Vita Blackberry Mint.

Some of the coffee selections available today are;

Rainforest Organic. This selection has a smooth taste, floral undertones and aromatic character.

Peruvian Organic. Rich volcanic soil, watered by melting snows and abundant tropical rains, creates the ideal conditions for a uniquely superb coffee. Peruvian Organic is mountain-harvested using pure, simple techniques that produce beans of exceptional quality. Light and smooth, with a medium body and pleasing, slightly floral acidity and subtle earthiness, this is a Certified Organic coffee that I'm sure you will love!

For those of you that prefer the flavored ph00, may I recommend;

Irish Crème. Experience the delectable taste of Irish crème in this buttery coffee. Irish Crème is a sweet coffee blended from mountain-grown Arabica beans grown in South America. This buttery, non-alcoholic blend is lively and full of fun - making for a delectable treat with every sip.

Chocolate Raspberre'. Just a touch of rich chocolate flavor combined with the essence of tangy raspberries is all it takes to unleash a unique coffee experience. Made from carefully selected, mountain-grown Arabica beans from South America, this delicious blend is a perfectly balanced, aromatic coffee experience that can make any occasion special.

And of course the menu wouldn't be complete without the traditional DTR Janitors Blend Crème Brulee Deluxe! Tobacco, caramel and cream flavor add just the right amount of sweetness and tartness to this extremely heavy-bodied blend. Crème Brulee coffee is an enticing full-flavored blend that combines premium Arabica beans from East Africa and Central and South America, and the floor sweepings, moppings and urinal remnants from the DTR restrooms. Pour a cup and sip the day's troubles away with DTR Janitors Blend Crème Brulee Deluxes' superbly balanced and velvety smooth flavor.

Hope you enjoy!
