Hey All,
Dang Mark, Nice Job. At least on half of it.
Finally got home a couple of days ago.
Long hitch, had the same problems the boys in the gulf had, ( at least from what we could determine). LOTS of gas coming up out of the ground. Bad news if everyone is not on there game and luck is not running in your direction.
How is everybody doin????

Morning everyone. Looks like it has been busy in here.
Don't worry Madhat, I wear my hearing protection when I paint. The sound of paint drying makes my skin crawl.

By no means what so ever am I a concrete specialist, buuuut aren't those seam lines supposed to be there?
Nice job, garage looks great.
Busy busy up here, serial arsonist running around.
Had a dump truck hauling a mid size excavator, the pintle hook sheared on the truck then the trailer passed the truck going down a steep hill and absolutely demolished 5 parked cars, a couple concrete poles. It was quite a mess, thank god no one was killed. This guys equipment had no business being on the road.
Off to work, Ya'll be good.

Morning Tim,
We've been having a serial arson over on the east side too. City of Flint did a MASSIVE lay off of police and fire and it's been burning ever since.

I wonder if the trash removal union members are going to go on strike now because all of the trash is burning and they can't collect it now.
Kinda makes you wonder if the city is going to cut welfare and excessive social programs too...

Funny you mention that, we were just discussing that. Grand Rapids here, just announced 20 more officers and a bunch more fire to be layed off if a tax hike doesn't pass. Already down over 30% on staffing. This round would probably catch my brother. 2nd largest city in the state with Chicago and Benton Harlem crap bleading in constantly. They might as well just hand them over the keys. Those guys are jumping from shooting to shooting every night.

I hate to say it Don, but I hope the tax hike doesn't pass. The mass exodus from the state will continue and all they will have left are the gangs. It would be kinda funny to have gang members calling 9-11 crying for help only to have a recording saying " 9-11 has been shut down due to the lack of responsible tax paying people in the area to help you. Change you can believe in "
I wonder how long until they pass a law making it illegal for the tax payers to move out of there???

Yeah, we've already been on the verge of mobilizing for Benton Harbor again this summer. We're likely to see "the big one" yet. My department along will be seeing almost 40 retirements locked in for next month with no academy on the horizen. Gonna lose A LOT to retirements this year. Even the colonel/director going.

I hate that darn cat. Gets me everytime...
you too sir. Hey where is that vote you talked about????
As the wheels of progress go round and round...
I wonder who they are gonna blame when everything comes crashing down??? probably all you racist emergency services people leaving everyone in the lurch I suppose.
And on that note, at what point do the fire/police simply refuse to enter an area due to lack of 'resources'?

Pictures?
Yep, that's it.
When we were at GR Fire Headquarters a few weeks ago, they told us that each of GR's stations will have 3 person staffing come June no matter what the call volume or how many pieces of apparatus are in the station. Nice, real nice.
When the person responsible for running the department grows a set and puts his/her foot down. 3 people can NOT execute a safe and effective interior attack of a structure fire. All it does it put FF's in unnecessary danger on top of the danger they already have to face with near full staffing. What should be done is interior rescues if it's possible, then surround and drown until something resembling safe staffing levels are returned. It's being done around the country already but more chief officers need to step up to the plate.

Reading through this I am thinking of the movie backdraft. Although I am not sure the safety of the fire/police is the motive over there. Something in me suspects that an attempt at 'fundamentally changing" the local and state government is in play. Call me pessimistic. Bring em to there knees and when they are all desperate, grab everything you can.

i dont get it lets give more to ppl that dont work for it and prevent ppl from working for it.

good day everyone just a quick hello before i head out the door.
Mornin...
Thanks for all the comments, I really like it. I am not happy with the way the joints turned out... I think that if I would have had someone to help me, I could have feathered them a lot better. That stuff just set up so fast, it was ridiculous. Right at the end I got the water mix right (ended up using 1.75x more water than they called for) and squirting it with a spay bottle once I got it set where I wanted it. Oh, well, I know for next time.
Bout to hang a ceiling fan, then start moving stuff to start prepping the other side for paint. The floor is still a little tacky, but that sand in it is NICE
