Claude, you're only the second guy I've heard tell a story like that. You two must have been neighbors because you both had to walk up hill, both ways.

Awwwww, poor baby - - he is cold - - and whining - - big wimp. Shape up boy and face it like a man. It will only be about 100 degrees warmer here than where you are on Sunday. Oh, how horrible - - I will think about you along about Monday when I am back out enjoying the sun with my ph00 and reading the paper in the lanai, but I refuse to wear YOUR pink Speedo - - no way, Jose. Saving that for you, baby. Seriously, that is cold - - bad cold - - no way cold - - going to Texas, or Arizona, or California, or Florida cold. YUK.

Afternoon DTR

Having the start of a heat wave here today, made it all the way from 7* to 24*!

Got a new blocker heater cord on order, old one decided to stop working this week. Dealer wanted $60 for the darn cord! No one else had one in stock and it would have been a few days before I got it so i ended up buying one from Genos Garage for $13. Thats alot better than the $60 the dealer wanted. The dealer was really proud of their part and price! I told the parts guy they are nuts if they are selling them for that much money.

Went to Cabelas today to waste a little time, picked up a manual on reloading. Been thinking about reloading my own ammo for my rifle and pistol. I save all my brass when I go shooting and I probably have about 400 rounds of .308 brass that are good and about 200 good .38 spl brass casings.

Wife and I are going out for a few drinks with some friends tonight. We have her work Christmas Party on sunday to attend, her boss is having it at a country club near us and is paying for everything. I've been told the food is very good at the place we'll be at. Can't say no to a free dinner.

How is that news worthy? Gonna be snowing and -20* for the rest of the week up here. That is real tempeture, none of this windchill bs to pad the numbers and "sensationalize" the facts. Just get out and deal with it a d quit whining.

Up early today kids out of school for the week and the babysitter is still in Brazil. Sleep always was overrated.

Gee, someone sounds grumpy!!
Marc, thats WHY we dont live up there where you do, so we can whine and cry when its cold....

Kinda like the guy who complains because his soup is too salty at the soup kitchen...while the rich guy whines about the mustard not being poupon...
its all a matter of perspective........

Scott, in 1940, Germany, Italy and Japan signed a mutual aid/ non-aggression treaty called the Tri-Partite Agreement, it was refered to in Europe as the "Axis Treaty".... hence, when the USA declared war on Japan following the Pearl Harbor attack, Germany and Italy were bound by treaty to declare war on the US..ending our isolationist stance, much to the joy of most of Europe.
Understand now?

It's newsworthy because we don't normally get those temperatures, wind-chill OR raw! Just as I'm sure we'd here about it down here if you got 120 degree temperatures up there. And you'd whine about it just like we do the cold! SO THERE!

It is. He just hasn't admitted it to himself yet. That and the fact that the extended below zero weather is freezing his brain cells together!

What aggravate us is the weather channel and their lack of coverage above the US-Canada line. They seem to embody the lower 48 attitude that only they exist and nothing outside the contiguous 48 are worth mentioning, if you watch Canadian news/weather they talk about theirs yours and our news/weather. One that got me last year was I was watching TV with a friend, he was at his house I was at mine, temps outside were -60 (that explains why were watching at separate houses, to cold to fire up the rigs so we bs about the show on the phone) anyway the weather channel had this show about the TOP 10 Storms of the week" Now I'll give the first to they mentioned were substantial storms but they jump to the next one about some poor sap that got stuck in a snow drift at +35 and survived the night with only slight frost bite...Here we are thinking why not a small bit about if that had happened in the Interior of Alaska that day, life expectancy outside unprepared can be 30 seconds to 5 min. max. Now I enjoy being in a place where most people have no idea where we are (like most maps show us south of Ca.) But if you want to control every darn thing we do an say up here (now you wanna tell our Iditarod musher they can’t smoke a bowl to relax) then at least acknowledge we exist.

Wink

finished playing wii with the hubby, he practices. got my butt kicked in tennis but gosh that is one deep belly laugh to play! not the video gamer, but it is fun.

western new york made national news because the lake snows shut down the thruway. Buffalo said, why?
new york state police said because we can't see.
Buffalo said 'wusses'
and that's how the thruway got shut down. oh, sp left 14 vehicles in no man's land. ran back and forth on snowmobiles to check on them. 12 hours later, they opened the 45 miles.
Buffalo plows would have the road open, road crew support leading the drivers to downtown hotel, free nights stay, great food and full tanks before letting them travel next morning, refreshed. snow means nothing to us. we know what we are dealing with. 22 feet in the Blizzard of 1977, I walked 3 miles home only to get called out for duty Army national guard. great to be a part of that era.

hubby and son complain about my 08 liberty in the snow and ice. I don't have any problems, think they are putting foot in injectors....

try to do fun and frolic tomorrow up in the city, I want to see some of the items from the titannic. helping out with a scuba diving show from 12-2pm. hope i get some free samples!!! (technology of diving)

back to gov work
