My wife hates spiders and currently hunts them with a shop vac. Hope she never finds out that the webs will burn.

I have heard the word many times before by the old folks. Now, thanks to you, I am going to crack up if it is said. They already think I am strange.

Flurry of activity at the Shovelhead household this AM.

Breakfast assembled & devoured, dirty dishes heading for the dishwasher, floors gotta be vacuumed, laundry in the washer, 'stuff' being picked up all over the place and "hidden", trash taken out........etc.

Wifey's on her way home after being gone to Peru for 2 weeks...........
Should be in Atlanta by 0815 hrs, and replaned to Washington DC arriving @ 1400 hrs.

Ya'll stay safe, and watch out for flying debris.............

Morning all.

30 degrees and freezing drizzle here.

Today is Wednesday, January 6th.

On this day in 1759 - George Washington and Martha Dandridge Custis were married.

1838 - Samuel Morse publicly demonstrated the telegraph for the first time.

1900 - Off of South Africa, the British seized the German steamer Herzog. The boat was released on January 22, 1900.

1912 - New Mexico became the 47th U.S. state.

1930 - The first diesel-engine automobile trip was completed after a run of 792 miles from Indianapolis, IN, to New York City, NY.

1945 - The Battle of the Bulge ended with 130,000 German and 77,000 Allied casualties.

1950 - Britain recognized the Communist government of China.

1967 - U.S. and South Vietnamese forces launched a major offensive, known as Operation "Deckhouse V", in the Mekong River delta.

1994 - Figure skater Nancy Kerrigan was clubbed on the right leg by an assailant at Cobo Arena in Detroit, MI. Four men were later sentenced to prison for the attack, including Tonya Harding's ex-husband.

1999 - The 106th U.S. Congress opened. The first item on the agenda was the impeachment proceedings of U.S. President Bill Clinton. The trial was set to begin January 7, 1999.

Good morning, gang. Gorgeous morning out but frightfully cold. Temp is 37 degrees. Oh my goodness - - in Florida???? NAW!!!! OH YEH!!!!!! I ignored my first impulse to jump in the pool and jumped in the hot shower instead.

Looks like all is the same around here except the night owls were sleeping last night - - something really wrong. Maybe too cold on the internet too. I notice also the coffee is not made and the place is a mess - - so same ole same ole.

OK, coffee is on, regular, ph00 and some decaf for the few that are always whining - - hot water for Claude. Been too busy and lots more stuff to conquer. MRI on the shoulder shows no tear in the rotator (that's good) but some other problems they will try and work out without surgery. Sooooo, here we go with therapy and shots and ?????? Hope it works - - hate the thoughts of going in there again.

OK, off to my run for the day. Take care,

Bob

Ah yes, the panic that sets in when after two weeks of bachelor like behavior one realizes he is still married and an inspection is imminent.

Bob, glad you're going to evade the knife.

Morning all! +16 here this morning. Weather guessers say the snow should start arriving tomorrow around lunch to early afternoon.

Under the new administration, it's no longer called inflation.
The NEW term is CHANGE.
