Rats, thought you might have had a run in with some barbed wire after a late night visit with the farmers daughter or something.
The rest of you seem to be staying low key this evening. Gotta figure out something for dinner, I am in the mood for hot dogs with chilli and beans. Time to dig through the freezer.

So you know what havoc it can bring when the roll lets go...

Ive had blood drawn over it many a times myself. Dad always insisted on building fence in the middle of summer. A fence stretched tight in July will tighten in the winter, one built in Dec will sag in the summer. I hate t post hammers.....

Man, when I say I grew up building it, I'm not lying one little bit. Every summer and break from school I spent building fence. We had a fence company.
We rarely had a wire break, but when it did, man, it was ugly. We could stretch a half mile at a time.

Well, never had to do that much of it.

Helped Dad clear and build fence around our 90 acres, and another 100 or so that we leased for cattle. Every t post was hammered by hand by either him or I. We would use cotto (square wire) fence and three strands of barbed wire on top. We would string the barb wire by hand, put a pipe through the roll and got after it, and it was always fun when she decided to unwrap on her own...

Dad used to say all that work was to build character

I always thought he was full of it.

Oh and to be fair, the last few streches that we put up worm helped too. Longest pull we ever did was around 1000ft. Would pull the cotto with an ole Massey Furgeson 65, the barb wire with a come along.

Many summers through middle and high school clearing brush, plowing, cleaning, building fence, welding up cattle pens and chutes from oilfield tubing.... good memories.

Just sprayed for some crickets outside (they are really bad here). Hope I don't die, I did not wear any PPE.

Got the truck fixed from the fiasco this morning...

Let's re-cap just today's fun...

Truck would not go over 25 this morning. I set the speed limiter to 25 and turned it way down while I was gone, figure if someone steals it, they won't tear it up. Set the limiter 2x, it still would not go over 25. Set it to stock, worked.
Got to work 10 minutes late. Not a big deal.
Someone switched my chair out with a broken one, as soon as I sat down, it dumped me on the floor. Hit pretty good, my back hurt for about 2 hours from that one.
Opened my work e-mail, over 850 e-mails, 700 of them from the system administrator telling me that my mail box was full.. It sends one every 15 minutes once the mail box hits a certain size. That's some smart stuff right there.
Nothing on my computer wanted to work after I got the e-mails fixed.
3 Marines gave me troubles all day.
Got a splitting headache... don't get them often.
Came home, kid was sick, moaning about his stomach. I did feel for him...
I chilled a bit, then started grilling some big steaks. Grill died, probably had 5 minutes left. OL's was done perfect, mine was still cool in the middle. I like mine mid rare, it was pretty rare.
Got the steaks in, kid barfs on floor.
Got the mess cleaned up, steaks were cold.
Sprayed some bug killer, was a dummy and did not wear a mask, got a little mist up the smeller. I'm probably gonna pay for that later tonight.
I'm fat.

Good notes: Wife came and visited me at work for about 30 minutes... very nice.
Got truck fixed, good stuff.
Pool is nice, bout 90*.
I'm still the baddest mother on the planet. (well, not really, but kinda)
Enjoying time with the wife, I really missed her.
I'm a MARINE!!!

All in all, not a bad day. All I need now is the roof to fall in, or the truck not to crank in the morning. Or, the roof to fall on the trucks. Or, the truck falling in the roof.

Thanks for tuning in...
Hmmm, looks like you need to move somewhere a little further inland. You just don't do well near the coast, east or west.

Ive actually got 5 that are hanging in and are fully expected to finish testing (acceptably too) tomorrow. This will give me 12 welders. Just in time for them to fire 3 more and 2 to quit after that....

<i need a shoot myself in the foot smiley right about now>
