AND I do wish i lived closer to you!~ just like the prices/diving/fishing/outdoors and warm weather in Florida right now.
got free flights and places to stay to go check out some properties but have to stick around for UPS to call (hopefully) in 1-7 business days. 4 jobs, 52 people showed up; 46 of them were under 22 years old and wanted to get their foot in the door for full time/ long time employment. long shot but want to be around should they try to call. hopefully I looked employable.
lot going on, so i better get going! night all you campers

evening everyone. Been stormy here the last few days. Yesterday a tornado touched down near my town. Hit one house but no injuries reported, my best friend was driving his semi at the time and saw the funnel cloud touch ground a few miles in front of him. Lots of wind warnings here, on the lake the weather was talking about hurricane force winds and 30 foot waves! I work right next to the Lake and we recorded 60 mph winds during part of the day, weather man said some parts could see 70 mph winds. Still windy today but clear, the weather is suppose to calm down over night.
Today was dads birthday, he turned 56! We were gonna go out to dinner tonight to his favorite place but I got a call from mom and she said dinner was cancled tonight because dad was pretty tired from work. I'm gonna take him out for lunch on saturday instead. I called him today and wished him a happy birthday, he sounded very happy. He talked to me, my brother, and spent time with my sis. Told him I'll be by saturday to visit, he said he's looking forward to it.
Nothing else really new going on. Been doing some training at my job this week. It's kinda boring but I'll make it through the class. Got a call from the RR monday, offering me a job. A few friends I have there still pulled a few strings and wanted me back working with them. Wife and I talked about it and since I have time invested in the RR and their retirement. It makes good sence to go back. It was the shortline I originally worked at, good place and everyone was treated like family there. So I accepted the job and now have to wait for the usual BG check, physical and drug test crap to clear. I should be back there by years ends. I love the power plant but my position there is only a temporary job so i can be cut anytime.
I see Scott is the new Jan-istrator, poor guy has to clean toilets and manage us!

good day people. Back from the trip to the middle north, engine removed and hauled back. nothing beats 30 miles of pushing drifts with the bull bar, while towing an 18' bobcat trailer with a 3500lb engine assembly on board.
Back to the slightly north of 60 climes for the winter now... I hope.
Unrelated. Horsepower, " back in the day" was rated gross. Which means flywheel HP. in the 70's they changed the rating to net, or wheel hp. This gives a more realistic rating of what is available to actually move the vehicle. There is some useless information, from that endless, almost pea-sized vault on my shoulders.
Sitting at -11C this morning, warmed right up this afternoon, dropping again now.
have a good one.
