Apparently it was pretty entertaining to other people also but both the dog and I developed a severe aversion to hard liquor after that.
Beautiful day here. Gonna go back out and finish moving some wood while its still warm (22f at the moment).

Evenin' all!
Took the kids sledding this afternoon. Only lasted a bit cause the oldest bit off more hill than she could handle..... I warned her but she knew better than me apparently....... Until she bit it hard and ended up with a bloody nose.
So much for a long afternoon of sledding.
Gotta scrounge up some dinner soon. Fridge looks like it could give up some leftovers.....

Matt, looking at that, you might be ahead cost wise, just buying a correct gun. That barrel may have been shortened, definitely a sporter front sight and barrel may have been tapped. You'll need to pick up the correct rear sight parts. The lyman tha's on there is after market and would require you to cut a notch in your new stock when you get it. You can always plug the holes. If you want to keep going with it, here, are some new barrels made with the military profile.

Dad was in Vietnam 1968 and 1969. US Army, Big Red 1, 1st Infantry Division. Honorably discharged as an E5, with 3 Purple Hearts and 2 Bronze Stars amongst other decorations.
He did tell me that he was on the Ho Chi Minh trail during the Tet Offensive, other than that, he wont talk a whole lot about it. I cant begin to imagine what he had to go through over there.
