Dog kills Cat

Big news up here in Wa. A 70-80 yr old woman sues dog owner and won 45k because dog killed her cat. EDIT .. What has the world come too!!!! How can this be allowed, this has always been a part of nature between cats and dogs. Now we are putting big dollar values on 12yr old stray cats.

Wasn't it in Shakespear's Hamlet, "First, kill all the lawyers!"

depends on where it happened. If the dog came in her yard the owners need to be held accountable

My dog got one of my neighbors prize chickens once. Chicken lived but had some good punctures. The chicken was in a tree branch hanging over my side when the dog hit the fence barking... chicken was stunned and landed on my side. The dog got ahold of the chicken before I could make it across the yard. I was able to get it from the dog and returned it to my neighbor wrapped in a towel. Your own yard should be fair game. If you don't have a secure yard and let your dogs roam the neighborhood that's different.

seems to be a lot of talk about dogs and cats. usually very black and white...either dog OR cat.

i think about the buffalo leaving Yellowstone Nat'l park and mating with the cattle only to pass on disease that hurts the farmer's inventory. farmer's dedicated life in one hand, nature in the other (no one forced the two to mate). do they have the right to ask for government help in access well over $45k? not saying i am one way or the other, just trying to get a different thought than dog or cat.

Whatever dollar amount it takes to get people to take responsibility for their animals and keep them contained is reasonable. I like dogs and cats. I don't like someone elses cat crawling all over our vehicles or someone elses dog threatening me and my family in our own property. Should be legal to shoot any dog or cat on your own property. That would stop people letting their animals run loose. That and they make great fertilizer.

So for Typical nature

Predator vs prey relationships, a woman wins 45K for a dead fuzzball?? MAN there is no justice in this world sometimes... I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS!

If a neighbor's pet Grizzly Bear killed any of ya'll's dogs then I have a feeling that you'd all be singing a different tune.

Or if your labrador was killed after your neighbor's pit bull dug into your yard.

Just remember Mr. Finch...
