Does your Aspen/Durango tranny whine?

We have a 07 Aspen 2x2 and at town driving speed the tranny whines real loud like an old 60's Chev. Anyone else have these vehicles and do yours whine?

We have a 2006 durango, hemi\mds and I have never heard a whine. There is a loud click when going into reverse

You have a 545RFE, same 5 speed auto in almost all the Hemi vehicles. Id take it in for service as that transmission isn't known to whine.

I don't have the hemi so is my tranny the same? Its a 5 speed.

My wife has the 07 Aspen with the 345 hp Hemi in it. No whine at all out of it and we are almost at 5000 miles

An '07? Check the fluid level; if its low, any wet spots on the ground where you park it?

In any event, take it into the dealer and have the noise "fixed", or at least documented if they resist fixing it.

We have an 07 Aspen, of course we havent seen it for the last 35 days. IIRC it was a very quiet ride. The 5.7 sounds really nice at full throttle. No other sounds eminate from the truck (even with three kids in the back, thank you Mr. DVD).
